Flow triggering whenever a column is changed and not the specified column

Below are snapshots of the flow:

The flow generated an email when other changes were made to the List in SharePoint. How do I fix the flow to only send the email when the column is changed from being blank to now have the date it was sent to a client?

@Srobbins0814 Can you clarify if you want your flow to only trigger when a specific column has changed? If so, you will need to set a Trigger Condition. Without a Trigger Condition set, your flow will trigger EVERY TIME a the item/file in the list/document library you've specified is modified.

To build the expression you will need for your Trigger Condition. Add a Compose action to your flow. We'll use this for testing purposes.

Start with an empty() function.

Click on the dynamic content tab and select the dynamic content for your email column. I'm using a single text column field in my demo. Insert that dynamic content into the empty() function.

Since you want to check to see if the column is empty, you'll need to wrap the entire expression in a not() function. At the start of the expression enter not with an opening parenthesis.

Go to the end of the expression by pressing the down arrow key. Don't forget to add a closing parenthesis.

Run a test. Your flow should only have these two actions (for testing). Update an item and fill in the field. The Compose action should return true.

Copy the expression to your clipboard. 

To prevent the flow from triggering every time an item or file is modified add a Trigger Condition. Click on the three dots of the flow trigger and select Settings.

Add an @ symbol and paste the expression into the Trigger Condition field.

Run a test. First update an item without updating the email column—the flow should not run. Then update an item and fill in the email column. The flow should run.
