Flows suddenly failing - condition statement shows false, even when statement is true

Any help will be much appreciated! I have deleted and re-created this flow several times 😪 it always seems to work perfectly fine and then a day or so later it just no longer works.

Flow Overview:

- create item in sharepoint list

- get items from another sharepoint list

- check the invitation code in both sharepoint lists and if the invitation codes match update the list status to "member verified". If the invitation codes does not match update the status to "unverified entry"

As you can see here the invitation codes on both lists match; And the results of the flow test run can be viewed here.

Hi @nl9

It looks like your Get items action is grabbing all the records from Member list. Which is causing the issues, Basically your condition is checking every list item from SharePoint and checking if the member ID matches. You will need to narrow down your search or search the full array:

You can lookup the user by email address in Get items by using a filter on  the Email field like:

Email eq 'Email Field from HTTP Action' This will ensure that you will only check the Correct Member ID

Hi @nl9

Please add a Compose action above your condition. And add Both Invitation Dynamic content in there. Now Run the Flow and see what the compose outputs are. Something is different,

Could be types: String, Number.

Either way, the Compose action will show exactly what is being evaluated. Please upload the Outputs.

@Jcook  So I added the compose action above the condition, like this:

Here is the result I got when running the test

Screen Shot 2020-09-30 at 3.35.21 PM.png

Additionally, here is the condition output results (if helpful)

Update: @Jcook I just noticed that the compose action input/output shows additional numbers at the end of the invitation code. The screenshot below shows the member database list, the number there is correct, below that is the condition output results which shows the correct invitation code.. but the compose action step is showing a different number (the invitation code + additional numbers)... I am not sure where it is getting those additional numbers from?

@Jcook  OMG! Thank you so much that worked! I tested it on a larger data pull and everything pulled correctly!

Screen Shot 2020-09-30 at 4.23.35 PM.png

(of course there are a few kinks for me to work out, like it not providing a status because the letter case does not match, and it removing 0's from the beginning numbers but this is good start!)

Again thanks so much for helping me with this! And thanks for pointing out the compose action, this was my first time learning about it!
