Get SharePoint list items, add a row to Excel file, issue with SharePoint Person column type, multiple persons

I have a scheduled flow that gets items from a SharePoint list and adds a row to an Excel file.  It's working fine, however I can't figure out how to bring in one of the columns from this SharePoint list correctly, it's a Person column that permits multiple people.

Current flow

I want to add a column to this Excel table called LeadsAssigned.  It should contain the display name for each person in the array coming from the Get Item connector.

Eg. assume the LeadsAssigned column in SharePoint for an item contains 3 people.  I'd like the LeadsAssigned value in the Excel table to be a string: Smith, John; Rabbit, Roger; Jones, Susan

I'm not sure how to deal with this column/object/record type.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

PS. Thanks to @wskinnermctc and @DamoBird365 for helping me design the original flow.

Hello @allan_t

Here you go.

Step 1. Create an Initialize Variable make it an empty string

FLMike_0-1694725307091.png

Then Purposely create a Compose Action (its weird but lol do this)

Inside the action add the Dynamic Value (in my list (Service Tech Display Name). In yours its probably Leads Assigned Display Name

The moment you do it turns into an Apply to each and now will just say Service Tech (yes it removes the display name part).

Inside that you will add an Append to string variable action

Select the variable

And then once again, Dynamic value Service Tech Display Name (again use yours)

Now you have a comma separated list of names to use. Make sure to do this before your already existing apply to each. And yes it will have an extra comma at the end.

if you want to remove it for looks.

create a Set Variable action after the above append all service techs and before your apply to each and do this

substring(variables('LeadList'),0,sub(length(variables('LeadList')),1))

@FLMike Thanks for the suggestions.  I've not been able to get this to work.  Perhaps I've misunderstood where the Apply to each should be inserted.  I get this error [The execution of template action 'Apply_to_each' failed: the result of the evaluation of 'foreach' expression '@items('Apply_to_each_List_Item')' is of type 'Object'. The result must be a valid array.]

Here's my flow outline.  Inside my Apply to each List item loop, I added the Compose action for the LeadAssigned DisplayName dynamic value, this created another Apply to each loop.  After the Compose action, I added the Append to string variable action for the LeadAssigned DisplayName value and it created another Apply to each 2 loop.

What have I done wrong?

Hi,

Close, but check out my images and explantion versus yours. First you add LeadAssigned to the compose , not Lead Assigned Display Name.

Then use the LeadAssigned Display Name in the Append to string.
