Get value from action "Get rows (V2)"?

Hello,
I am new to Power VA and have a question about my first flow I am creating.

I have queried a local database with the action "Get rows (V2)" and now I want to read and return a single value.

What action do I need to use for this?

Hi @fpeters,

You can use an expression for this in for example a Compose action.

Just use an index like [0] or alternatively, the first function to refer to the first row of the get rows. After that index you can make a reference to your specific column.

Below is an example

This should get the first row of all the returned rows

outputs('Get_rows_(V2)')?['body']['value'][0]

This should get the value of a specific attribute in that first row

outputs('Get_rows_(V2)')?['body']['value'][0]['nameofattribute']

Hi again,

the flow now works, but when I implement the flow in Power VA, I always get only an $ sign as the result.

In Power Automate the relevant part of the flow looks like this:

In Power VA, the flow is included here.

But the testbot always returns only '$'.

Can anyone tell me where the problem is?

In the screenshot it looks like you have added the expression as plain text to the inputs field of the Compose action.

Can you make sure you add the expression via the expression tab to the inputs field?

thanks for answering. You are right, the first error was that i passed it in plain text.

If i try it with the following expression (via expression tab :)!):

outputs('Zeile_abrufen_(V2)')?['body']['value'][0]['CustomerId']

i receive the following error.

"Unable to process template language expressions in action 'Compose' inputs at line '0' and column '0': 'The template language expression 'outputs('Zeile_abrufen_(V2)')?['body']['value'][0]['CustomerId']' cannot be evaluated because property 'value' cannot be selected. Please see https://aka.ms/logicexpressions for usage details.'."

What must be specified instead of 'value'? The query can only return one value because I filter on the primary key.
