HTML link in power automate

Here is what I did and flow it is returning exactly the results that I am wanting, after saving flow.

Problem now is now I cant edit the body of the email. It is stuck in the html mode in the body of the email. Any help would be appreciated.

JohnH70_0-1700498569831.png

Then this

JohnH70_1-1700498927910.png

then removed the "www.whatevercomany.com" & replaced with "Link to item" to make it dynamic and not show the big long ugly web address to make this email clean looking replacing it with "work center" for the clickable link portion of email body. Then clicked save the flow tested it and it works as expected in email response. One nice clickable link that says Work Center.

Problem now is when I click back into flow and go to email it is stuck in this mode and I cant go back to the editable body side of the email. So I need help with # 7 how do I get it back to body of email?

This is my 2nd post on this issue and it had 50 views with one response from @RobElliott. I realized then that I didn't give much detail on my current issue. So hopefully this helps break it down better.

Hi @JohnH70 ,

Please save and exit the flow, then edit again.  This has worked for me in the past on this exact issue too.

@trice602,

I have tried that and it still no success. Even tried to delete the whole section of EmailV2. then copy and pasted the exact same "html code" without steps 1-6 and no luck with that either even after a resave and re-edit.

Just tried to add another emailv2 to entire flow to see if that worked and still no success even with that thought.

Hi @JohnH70 ,

Here's my test results, please try this.  Here' I added a link to Bing and then clicked on the </> icon and it is still selectable, shown below.

trice602_0-1700505902205.png

With your cursor immediately following your last html tag (in my example the </p>, the </> icon is still available.  Next I select it and go back to regular body text and added a sentence.

trice602_1-1700506040048.png

NOW, I click on </> icon and notice below I added a couple of spaces to simulate adding more text.  I can no longer toggle back to regular body text and the </> is greyed out.

trice602_2-1700506150622.png

Next I remove the extra spaces and my cursor is again at the last position of </p> and I can again use the </> icon to switch between html and text.

trice602_3-1700506248605.png

So I will now add another line of text.  I start by going back to regular text mode.

trice602_4-1700506317615.png

In summary, you have added regular body text while in html mode.  Remove all character to the last html tag, probably a </p> and you can switch back.

Please mark as a solution if your Monday just got better 😀

Ok just tried that and tested the email it takes me right to bing. lol So Monday is even better!

JohnH70_0-1700507990242.png

Problem is the same though

As soon as I put in the "link to item" to make it dynamic same issue.

JohnH70_1-1700508162338.png

Did a save...tested flow and link works with the "link to item". But still same results when i go to flow and cant edit the body of email. I may just type the email as wanted add the html code and live with the non-edit part lol. It works it just shows all the html garble in the body, but not in actual email which was my original issue.

Its weird. I may try to rewrite the whole flow on just one leg of this flow and see if it is some glitch. I just noticed i am getting this message popping up.

JohnH70_2-1700508671142.png

When I opened file yesterday it opened in the new view, so i switched it back to classic view. Today i have seen this message twice now. So I think it may be a glitch in my flow. It an easy re-write and see if that fixes my issue.

Tried to re-write the flow and same issue. Here is a copy of the flow for example?  Open for thoughts to correct.

JohnH70_0-1700513057188.png

Only thing I can think of is the "link to item" does it need to be converted from SharePoint to html in a previous step? I would think the "link to item" in power automate is already converted to html. As the link it puts out in the email takes me right to the specific item on SharePoint list.  Like the picture below.

JohnH70_1-1700514606635.png

Hi @JohnH70 ,

Agree this is finicky.  My recommendation is to write the entire email as you intend it to go out, test it and confirm you like the results.  THEN add the link to item html tag.  Retest.

That's what I am doing now.

Test test test...lol

I am going to leave this ticket open for now maybe get lucky and this works it's self out. Not to sure why it is doing this. But least it works, so cant say thanks enough for your assistance in this issue.

Hi @JohnH70 ,

The issue is the dynamic content isn't being recognized as a "link" in the html; because we both have tested this with Bing with success.  But I do think you can get the email body 99.9999% and then add in the dynamic link and it should work.
