HTML table for the approval email Details in ms flow

Hi All,

I have created HTML table to add multiple items and i'm adding the HTML table in Approval email Details. But i'm getting the html markup in the mail for multiple records. I have gone through the community and i found markdown solution for that.

But here my issue is when i add markdown with multiple items(it went to For loop), we are getting individual email per item.

Also i have 10 list columns which i need to send through mail( not getting table data properly).

Is it possible to get the below output in mail body.

For Ex: Column1    Column2    Column3

              x                    test         ABC

              y                    test         ABC

Mail Body Should be:

Column1 : X,Y

Column2 : test
Column3 : ABC

Hi @BKGOUD ,

Please try to refer to the following method to configure Details. approvals-markdown-support#tables

  • Initialize string variable to store the data in the list with the specified format.
  • Append the data of the specified columns to the variable.

Hope this helps.

Hello @BKGOUD

You should build the content first from your items and only then add it to the approve action.

Or you can build the content as a file and attach it to the approve action. This method will allow you to create a table in the file/attachment.

Kind regards, John

Hi @v-bacao-msft,

Thanks for your help.

I have tried the below scenario it's working fine and receiving mail. But it is in plain text format (row by row).

Not getting the table. Could you please help me on this.

Hi @BKGOUD ,

Please show me the configuration and result.

Ensure you have configured the correct format. Even the lack of a | or a line break will cause the style to fail.

My test result:

| Title | Title1 | Title2 |

| :------------ |:---------------:| -----:|

I kept the above in string variable.

Below in Append to string variable.

| @{items('Apply_to_each_4')?['Title']} | @{items('Apply_to_each_4')?['Title1']} | @{items('Apply_to_each_4')?['Title2']?['Value']} |

Result in Mail:

 Title       Title1      Title2

 Test1     Test2       Test3

But the  same markdown script working as expected(In tabular format) in online markdown edit.

Please provide the screenshot of Flow configuration and result.

Besides, remove this:

44.PNG

In the Approval email, the display format can only be similar to the screenshot in my previous post. We cannot add styles such as grid lines, we can only organize the format into a similar table as much as possible.

Hope that makes sense.

thanks for this solution, I still facing a problem though, how to make this markdown content readable in teams, sometimes the user receive the approval in teams even before the email. so when they open it they cant read the content as teams not supporting markdown language! my only issue now how to make such a table readable as the same as in email body approval.

i have multiline textbox and every cell contains 5 items each how would i use them with pipes

Thanks,
its not appending

its giving out put as

| Heading 1 | Heading 2 | Heading 3 | |-----------|-----------|-----------| | Cell A1 | Cell A2 | Cell A3 | | Cell B1 | Cell B2 | Cell B3 |................
Not getting like this in APProval flow
| Heading 1 | Heading 2 | Heading 3 |

|-----------|-----------|-----------|

| Cell A1 | Cell A2 | Cell A3 |

| Cell B1 | Cell B2 | Cell B3 |
Thanks

Thanks #v-braco-m

Tables

Organize structured data with tables.

  • Place each table row on its own line
  • Separate table cells using the pipe character |
  • The first two lines of a table set the column headers and the alignment of elements in the table
  • Make sure to end each row with a Ctrl+m for CR and
    Ctrl+j for LF
  • Aligning text within a table element is currently not supported.

Example:

MarkdownCopy

| Heading 1 | Heading 2 | Heading 3 |
|-----------|-----------|-----------|
| Cell A1 | Cell A2 | Cell A3 |
| Cell B1 | Cell B2 | Cell B3 |

It was working, but coming to content visualization, it was not in proper alignment. Can you help me to show the data in the table format like HTML table format.
