Solved: Re: HTML to PDF Not converting HTML table?

Hi all,

I am trying to convert 3 different HTML files into PDFs using the OneDrive for business "Convert File".

I have the HTMLs all being created with 3 different "Create file" from OneDrive for business, and then I have a Convert File (Pointing to Create File ID), and then another "Create file" for the PDF, with the content of "Convert file".

Here is a picture of this process:

This is the flow that I have for the ONE out of THREE convert files working.

The other two processes are more or less identical, with different names obviously.

In the picture, PDF 2 (Also pictured above) is working

The output of the broken conversions:

As you can see, the conversion only converts the heading 2 (from my HTML code) into the PDF, but not the table.

The HTML that is created does work fine. I can view the HTML file that the conversion is grabbing and view it as an HTML.

Things I have tried:

Checking for file name typos

Renaming the file names

Making new folders for the HTML and PDF files - New path name

Switching the order that this flow runs.

Comparing the HTML for each create file.

Copying the working "Convert File" and "Create File" and populating with needed information

I cannot find out what the issue is. The only idea I have is that Flows does not like doing 3 conversions in one flow. Can someone help me?

There are lots of errors in the HTML, you can validate via: https://validator.w3.org/#validate_by_input

That said... The original HTML converts fine via Encodian's 'Convert HTML to PDF' action... however, I tidied up the HTML and re-tried via OneDrive, conversion is still failing, see below:

There are limitations with the OneDrive HTML conversion... this is not uncommon.

There are a few third party options out there such as Encodian's

Could you please explain more details about your issue?

Do you mean the Pdf 3 in the flow is not working?

Hi Alice,

So with PDF 2 (From Create File, Convert File 2, and Create File 2), I receive this end product (PDF):

This is exactly what I am looking for. The table in HTML converts to the PDF, as expected.

The issue I am having, is with the other two conversions.

Here is the end product for the HTML from one of the other files I am trying to convert. Keep in mind, this picture is NOT of the PDF.

That is what I want the PDF to look like; however, this is what I am getting after converting this HTML to a PDF:

As you can see, the Convert File IS converting the <h2></h2> from the HTML file; however, the table is no where to be found.

This issue is happening for 2 out of the 3 PDFs.

I would throw all of these PDFs into one file; however, when throwing my ALL of my HTML into the concat, I receive an "Expression is invalid" arguement, i'm assuming there is a character limit for concat?

The only explanation to my issue is that the flow is bugging out simply because it is trying to convert 3 different files?

Hopefully that has explained my issue a little more.

Unfortunately I did not find an exact fix while using HTML tables. One alternative that I did find, was to use standard HTML text (<p>,<h1>, etc); however, formatting is very trial and error based, and still does not look as good as an HTML table.

I have since put a hold on this project, but do plan on finding a fix for this exact problem.
