Help - OneDrive When a file is modified trigger in order to get the changes made to the file

Hello - I have an Excel file on my root folder in OneDrive for Business that is populated from a Microsoft form. I have a flow built which is triggered when a user submits the form - which then organizes the form data by section as separate tabs into tables in another Excel file in a Sharepoint folder so that a group may access the form submissions.

However, we want the form respondents to have the ability to save their responses and resubmit before the deadline. Because there is no trigger in Power Automate for when a form is modified, I thought I would attempt to use the OneDrive for Business trigger "When a file is modified" with a trigger condition that is specific to the file that is populated from the form. All good so far.

Looking at the OneDrive for Business actions, I do not see an action of "Get changes to a file" like there is in Sharepoint actions.

Can anyone offer advice on how I could accomplish what I need it to do? If it isn't possible to get changes to a file in OneDrive, is there a workaround that others have done to achieve this?

Basically I want to get the entire row of data (selected row) where a modification was made, and then I will add/overwrite that row in the other Excel file.

Thank you for any help the community can provide. Below are snippets of the OneDrive for Business actions.

HI @kky1,

I am afraid that Power Automate does not support to captrue the row data when a modification was made on Excel file from OneDrive.

Here is a workaround you may be interested in:

Thank you @v-qiaqi-msft for your response.

In case it helpful for others to see, I will share how I ended up achieving what I needed. The above solution was a little more involved than I needed so wanted something more simple that a colleague could update if needed.

In the end, I decided to insert a choice question into the form to indicate if this was an initial form submission or a re-submission. If they selected re-submission, I then asked the user to indicate the date of the re-submission (which is basically today's date). I then used these fields as part of a condition to check if it was a re-submission and if so, that the date of re-submission was not null.

If both true, then I used a series of compose/add to time actions to convert the  resubmission date from string to ISO 8601 format. (Note: even though I chose this format in the list rows Excel action, it was automatically reverted to string because there were null values for this field.)

I then did a compose on both the resubmission date and today's date in order to compare the two in a condition. If true, I then got the row ID in a compose and used it in my Get a Row action.

In my use case, I wanted to update a row in another table with a new Completion time for the form if re-submitted. (oddly, MS Forms doesn't update this field) So I had to repeat the actions to convert the resubmission date(s) from the Get a Row action.  The switch action below determines which section of the form was updated and adds the data to a specified table in another Excel file.

Hopefully this solution would be helpful to others.
