Help building a policy reminder flow with a slight twist

HI,

 

I'm building a reminder flow for policy documents where each policy author is emailed a reminder when their policy is going to expire.

 

I think I've managed to resolve this section using https://www.c-sharpcorner.com/article/send-an-email-reminder-notification-based-on-expire-date-using... but the next section is giving me a little trouble.

 

The reminders need to be sent to document author emails which is a lookup to a different list.

 

Can anyone tell me how I would bring in the data from this second list.

 

At the minute I'm using an apply to each to for each document and filtering the array to bring in the email from the other list.

 

I'm not sure what to do next, any ideas would be appreciated.

Hi @Mr0bb0 ,

 

Follow the amb's suggestion, if you have filtered out items and want to get lookup column details, you could refer to the following image to get author email.

 

For example, I created a lookup column in TestLibrary, named Author, look up to Test List.

 

We only need to use Get item action to get the specified item in the lookup list. And we should configure lookup column id output from the above step(Get files/Get items action).

You could try using the Get Item action step, select the second list and set the id as the lookup id.

I can see you have a filter with some condition in that. Once that is done then you need to iterate each values from the array and use the lookup id for Get Item for your next list.

Thanks that's a great help. Sorry for the delay in replying but I've been away.

 

However I'm not sure where I get the authorid from Get Item in the lookup list?

 

I've tried using Document Author WssId but that doesn't seem to work.

 

If I can explain this correctly, I have a job role in the main document library, this is linked to and Author and Manager in the look up list through the job role field.

 

Also where do I use this (is it still required in your solution?)

You should be able to access like below. Here ListB is my lookup column.

 

From the dynamic properties you can see the values like below.

Above ListB Id is the id of the lookup

Summer of Solutions | Week 4 Results | Winners will be posted on July 24th

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!    This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.
