Help in creating reminder

Hi ,
I have a flow for reminder but I was asking if I want to get 2 reminder, one fixed reminder before the due date with one day " Already done " . The other reminder i want it to be based on the notifcation period column as the screen shoot .

Hi @Amrmac 

 

I assume you have a scheduled Flow. In that case you can use a condition in a parallel branch which checks if Today is greater than the DueDate.

 

This can be achieved with the expression ticks():

 

ticks(utcNow()

ticks(triggerOutputs()?['body/DueDate']) 
 
What exactly do you mean with Notification Period ? Is it something like 3 days before due date or something ?

I mean I will create a new item and there is a notification period column its says how many days before the due date I should get reminder notification email  . every item had its notification period .

OK understood, you can use addDays in order to subtract the Period Days from your DueDate.

try to insert the 'minus' manually. 

addDays(triggerOutputs()?['body/DueDate'],-triggerOutputs()?['body/Period'])

 

Is the period column a numeric column or a text column? If it is a string column don't forget to convert.

addDays(triggerOutputs()?['body/DueDate'],-int(triggerOutputs()?['body/Period']))

I need to to have 2 reminders : 

1-  before the due date by one day ( Already created this flow )

2- In a costume days for each item " from notification period column " . 
Do you thing its better to have 2 flows or keep both in one flow . I prefer to make it separate flows .
Can you please help me with the full steps . Sorry for bothering you .

I would go for one Flow and work with a parallel branch.

The left one ist your first flow / before due date and the right one is x days before (you can achieve this with addDays()) 

 

Booth Branches will have these different conditions.

Right after get items you can add a parallel branch.

From here try to create in each branch a condition like in the previous image posted by me.

 

You can delete your apply to each loop, it will automatically come and wrap around your mail action.

maybe you need to remove the “%20” depending how your internal field name of the SharePoint column is.

Not working . This part :

right branch

ticks(addDays(outputs('Get_items')?['body/Due%20Date'],-outputs('Get_items')?['body/Notification%20Period'])) 

 

gives error even if removed 20% to be like the field name .

Is the Notification column a single line of text ? 

if so : ticks(addDays(outputs('Get_items')?['body/Due%20Date'],-int(outputs('Get_items')?['body/Notification%20Period'])))

 

can you provide the error message

Tray storing the output of the Notification in an earlier step into a  integer Variable with the Initialize Variable.

 

replace the output with the variable 

ticks(addDays(outputs('Get_items')?['body/Due%20Date'],-variables(‘YourVariableName’)))

Summer of Solutions | Week 4 Results | Winners will be posted on July 24th

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!    This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.
