How can I overwrite an existing SharePoint item with Power Automate?

I have a Power App application that uses the save as a draft feature and allows someone to come back to their entry they have started.  I am trying to get an overwrite of an existing item in a SharePoint List if the ID matches, to where there’s only 1 entry, instead of 2.  No matter what I do, it comes back as having no inputs:

The Get Items shows as below, where I want the ID to be compared to determine if it is a new entry or if an existing entry is being overwritten:

The condition is set to length(outputs('Get_items')?['body/value']) and the condition is greater than 0.  The Apply to Each is where the overwriting SHOULD take place.

Is there something that I’m missing with this?

@smcraigo If you already have ID of the item to overwrite, you can directly use it in "Update item" action so that item is updated/overwritten.

I am bit confused , you are using a trigger named When item is created trigger. This trigger runs when an item is created in sharepoint List 🙂

Could you explain what you are trying to achieve here ? how this flow will be related to Power Apps ?

The PowerApp has the form that people complete to request a faculty position, with the ability to save to a draft if they need to come back to complete the form.  I just changed the trigger to if item is created or modified. and have these same steps as before and Power Automate still creates a new entry instead of overwriting the draft entry, even with the ID being set to the the ID when the item was originally created.  Only difference is that the condition is now true instead of having no inputs.

So whatever power app form is doing like updating form it should be automatically reflects inside the SharePoint list right ?

So what you are trying to update in SharePoint list then using power automate flow ?

@Nived_Nambiar-  Yes, when the form is updated, it should update inside the SharePoint List.

I'm trying to get Power Automate to check to see if the ID exists first and then update the SharePoint list.

@smcraigo Do you have two lists here? What is the list on the trigger and what is the list on the Get items? If they are different and related with each other, do you have a reference id of trigger list in get items list?

May need some more info /insight 

If power app is updating sharepoint list, then does flow is adding information apart from what the form has added ?

Also i think this may result in infinite trigger as the above trigger works when item is updated/created and within the flow you are updating the item which cause the trigger again 🙂
