How to extract language chosen in forms

Hi, I have a flow to update sharepoint list and send automatic email after someone registers by filling out a form.

They can choose their preferred language for filling our their form. Standard is Dutch, but can be set to English (United States).

Now I would like to know in which language they filled out the form so I can send a confirmation email and further actions in their preferred language.

I searched the forums online, but could not find solution.

Now I was trying the Expression Contrains(Collection, Value) to see if I can extract the language from the body of the reponse, but that is not working. Below is my screenshot.

Does anyone have an idea how to do this?

Thanks in advance for your help!

You use the Detect language action (It uses Azure cognitive Services)-

@CFernandes thanks for your response but I do not think this is what I am looking for.

I am not looking to translate text, I just want to know was chosen to complete the form.Screenshot_language at top form.png

@Suuz Yes, my idea was to actually check if a string filled by end user and determine the language.

If the it is in Dutch language > Condition>s yes, send the email with this Dutch if no then send an email with English language and that can be done using the the Connector.

I'm also trying to figure out what language the Form submitter chose on a form. It seems like that information should be part of the Form Response details, but I don't see it. Did you ever figure out a way to do this? I've resorted to having to separate forms (one for each language) and two separate flows (depending on which form was filled out).

I have the same issue here. Maybe a tip that would help us to find a solution: in the Results exported into Excel, I can see the language that was used to complete the form.

Any solutions to this yet? We also use the multilingual option on our form, i see it in the export data to excel, but not in the dynamic content in power automate.

Currently facing the same issue. I have a form which can be answered in three different languages. Somehow German is kind of the "leading language" means each answer is translated into the respective german string when i use it in Power Automate to store all answers in a Sharepoint list.

Any possibility to retrieve the initial language value? Anyone...?

Still have not figured solution to retrieve. So I just added a choice question on each form asking for preferred language and use that as input for PA flow.

In the absence of a direct option appearing in your Dynamic Content, you could add the "get row" function to pull the language that is already populating on the excel file that populates with the form submissions; as @BekaertDeslee noted above.

Just for sharing. When you want to perform the "Get a row" (Excel Online (Business)) action, you need to create the Form from OneDrive for Business, and not from the Microsoft Forms website (like I did). More information: Create a form with Microsoft Forms

I needed to create an entirely new Form from OneDrive since I created mine from the Microsoft Forms website, and then there will be no Excel file to look into.

So I went to OneDrive > My Files, hit 'New' and chose 'Forms for Excel'. I reconfigured the new form.

Filled in a form just to test the behavior and I noticed that the Language column is not created.

From the Forms web page, under the 'Responses' tab I chose to 'Sync all responses to a new workbook', and filled in another Form. Now the Language code has successfully been filled in and can be obtained from my flow.

HI, i have the same issue right now. Is there another solution yet?

The language is not part of the questions in the form. Its toggled directly on the form.
