I'm new here! Need help copying rows from new excel to an already existing excel please.

So I already have triggers that add a new excel sheet to a folder.

What I need is when that new excel document is added is to copy all the rows in that sheet and append them to an already existing excel sheet. It seems this should be simple, but I am struggling. I have seen similar solutions but they involve the excel "get rows" action and that is not available for me. All I have are "get row" (singular) and "list rows" which don't seem to be what I need.

I believe you can see a lot of solutions related to Excel connector from Recommendations.

The method provided here can work only if the table is defined in the excel file and the data is stored in the table.

Only when such conditions are met, we can use the methods provided in Excel Online connector to manipulate the data.

If the data is only stored in an Excel sheet, I'm afraid I can't do further operations by relying on the existing functions of MS Flow.

If your data is indeed stored in an Excel table and you want to get the specified rows, then you can use List rows present in a table action to get the data. You can also use Filter Query to filter eligible rows.

Then use Add a row into a table action to insert these rows into other excel sheets, provided that the table is also defined in this excel sheet.

Thank you Barry. After posting this I noticed it was mandatory to have a table. If the new excel sheet being created by flow does not have a table pre-defined, then I cannot grab rows. My flow would need to work like this:

-Email comes in

-Get attachment (will always be an excel file)

-Save as excel file to a specified location

-Copy rows

-Append rows to existing excel sheet

If there is not a pre-defined table in the excel attachment, is there a way to automate defining a table?

Hi @Anonymous ,

You can use Create table to define the table, but that is meaningless.

We cannot insert any rows because this table does not yet exist during the configuration process, so we cannot configure any field values.
