I want to convert a value into a fixed text

Hello!

 

I am fairly new to the platform and have so far designed a flow in which a completed form via forms is converted into a completed PDF and this is then emailed to the entered email address.

 

However, I have a number of questions in my form for which a 'rating' of 1, 2 and 3 can be given. However, I want to provide a fixed text behind those values ​​instead of the 1, 2 or 3 in the PDF document.

What step should I add for this? Can someone help me on my way?

Sorry for the miscommunication. You can follow the below solution using Power Automate Cloud: 

 

Solution:

Before Checking the Condition convert the Rating Value into Float. Then Check Condition it will works.

If the values are whole numbers then you can use a Switch to set a text value for each of the values.  YOu can read about the Switch action here: Add switch actions to workflows - Azure Logic Apps | Microsoft Learn

If you are using Power Automate Desktop, then you can follow the below solution:

 

Display Custom Form:

Extract the Rating Value:

where Rate is the "ID" of the Dropdown

Use the "If" condition to check the Rating and you can set variable According to the Ratings.

Thanks for the quick replies! 

 

I am using the cloud flow, and after watching some content on the Switch action, i made some adjustments. 

But the value keeps empty now. Here is my flow:

I created 3 cases, with the following input:

After that it goes into creating the files, my flow setup is as follows:

I thought i put in the value at ' Update file properties'

He mentions in the original post that its a cloud flow, not a desktop flow.

You are using a Condition, not a Switch. Conditions are good for either or settings. But you want to set a value based on three different conditions.  Instead of the Condition it should look something like this.

Why do i get this error?

I got the next setup:

I made sure the Initialize variable Rating is 'type: String' and i got the switch action on the response field of the form. It gives the result i want:

I got case 2 set to: Equals 2 but after that it gives me the error.

Your solution worked, I get the correct text in my PDF. Thank you very much! It's all quite new to me, but I'll definitely look into it further. I will see if there are any good tutorials on Youtube etc..

 

If I may be so bold, is there an 'easy' way to add an icon/image to this? Where 1 give an red icon, 2 an orange and 3 gives a green one. Since it should be a report with an informal look.

Is the value coming in as a number or text? you may have to convert it to text if that is what is coming in to have it evaluate correctly

Summer of Solutions | Week 4 Results | Winners will be posted on July 24th

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!    This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can.
