Inactivity

Hi PowerAutomate Community,

I was wondering if it’s possible to create a flow for the following and how I would go about it.

I have a SharePoint list and if there has been no activity for 6 months on an item in that list, I would like the choice column called Status in the item to be updated with Closed - Due to inactivity

Is this possible?

Yep. 

Step 1) Create a flow scheduled to run once daily.

Step 2) Use the Get Items action looking at your list. Use a filter query of Modified eq 'formatDateTime(addDays(UTCNow(),-180),'yyyy-MM-dd')'(everything in bold should be an expression)
Step 3) For each output, use the "Update ITem" action and set the status to Closed - Due to Inactivity.


This is for all items going forward, when they hit that mark. 

You will also need to modify it to run once to get everything that has already hit that point. That would be just a change in the filter query - instead of eq (equals), you'd use ge (greater than or equals).

You're not a pain! 

You need to add apostrophes around the expression. Your expression is correct! Just needs apostrophes. Should look like this:

I've changed the expression to 1 day (just so I can test the flow), but it doesn't seem to be updating any items on the list with Closed - Due to Inactivity. I definitely have items in that list that have not been modified in over a day.

Just to add a bit more to this if i change the expression to 10 days the flow errors

Oh, my bad, I've been using a different app and used the wrong date format. Here you go, I tested this time to make sure:

formatDateTime(addDays(utcNow(),-10),'yyyy-MM-dd')

I'll also go back and edit my previous item that you marked as a solution in case anyone runs into it and gets the same issue...
