Include approvers in SharePoint Column in approval flow

Hi all,

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

I am currently making a Power Automate flow to ask approval for files on SharePoint.

My desired flow is as follows:

1. Start the flow on with the button on the specific file.

2. User fills in the approvers (they all have to approve).

3. Approval request is created and sent to approvers.

4. "Sign-off status" Column is created with value "pending" and "Approvers" Column is created with the names of the approvers.

5. When all approvers have approved the file the Sign-off column changes to "Approved", when rejected it will be "Rejected".

Steps 1-3 I have created and is working properly, but the column creation and setting values part of step 4/5 is giving issues. I essentially want the same functionality as the standard "Request Sign-off" functionality in SharePoint with the addition of multiple approvers and an extra column with the names of the approvers.

Does anyone have a suggestion or guidelines on if this is possible and how I would be able to create it?

Question.

You say a column gets created for Sign-Of-Status and Approvers

But where is this list you are adding it too?? Since you will have multiple files in the same place, are you really talking about adding a Column(s) or simply adding a row to a list. Because each time if your code adds 2 columns its going to be not work as it can only happen once and I doubt you want 1 List per Document?

Meaning you want to add a Row for that file that is being run??? because its a big difference.

Assuming its add a row

In Step 3 click between step 2 and 3, click the Add+, select Parallel action, or if this is a Row, then swap steps 3 and 4 and simply create the Row first.

Them step  5 happens after the approvals are done. That way its just 1 flow, that or you would need to add a parallel action where 3 and 4 run at the same time.

I've seen the standard "Request sign-off" flow in SharePoint add the Sign-off status column if it's not already been created in the document library.
