']} Instead of Link To List Item In Body of Email

Hello,

I am trying to get PowerAutomate to send an email that includes the link to the SharePoint list item embedded within in the email using the "Link To List Item" Dynamic Inputs but instead of "link to list item" showing in the body of the email, I am seeing ']} and am not sure why it is changing itself to that.

Details below

Overall Flow Functionality:

The flow is triggered when an item (sale opportunity for a car) on the SharePoint list is modified. It then has to pass a logic condition where what was modified is the status column value for the list item must now be equal to a specific status. If that logic test passes (is true). Then the action will occur where an email will be sent to another party in my organization letting them know that there is a new item (sale opportunity for a car) that they need to work on.

Specific Issue:

My issue is whenever I try to inset the Dynamic Content, Link to List Item, into the body of the email message, it automatically changes the dynamic content to ']} after I save it.

Does anyone know what is causing this and why it may not be populating a link to the List Item in my SharePoint? All my other dynamic content works as intended within the body of the email message.

SharePoint List Details:

My SharePoint list contains the following data types - currency, images of the car, emails, and text fields (make, model, year, etc...) But I would think since all of those are "out of the box" data types, that the type of data stored wouldn't be the issue. But maybe it does?

Images:

Email parameters I am using with the Dynamic Inputs from the list and the "']}" value I get instead of the Link to List Item after saving. Please see 2nd to last line of body.

Additional Information:

I did test putting the "Link to List Item" in my subject field and it is not automatically changing from "Link to List Item" to ']} when I put it there... so it only seems to be in the body of the email where it is having this issue. See image below of this test.

Subject line has dynamic content, but body of email does not.

If you know what is happening and can help me then thank you!

Hi @AlPal01

Could you try, instead of dynamic content, selecting function and type:

item()?['{Link}']

Then see if it reproduces the error 🙂

If the error still pops up, try adding a compose before the send email step and select the list dynamic content in the compose, then in the email step for where you want the link select the compose outputs.

Hi @AlPal01

Pls switch to classic designer by toggling off "New designer" switch and recreate the email body if you find it different after switching:

Hi Sam,

Using the function method did not work. It sill produced the same ']} after saving the content in the email having typed in item()?['{Link}'] in the function line.

The compose method you recommended did work and got published the link within the body of the email after testing. Much appreciated!

Hi Manish,

Changing the view seems to have worked! Thank you for the help. It is much appreciated. I am now getting the link to item to appear in the body of the email.

Was having the same issue with the ']} coming up instead of a link in the new editor. Guess it's another bug that needs fixing! Works fine in old editor for me too.

We're having the same issue.  Has anyone found a workaround other than reverting to the old editor?

Hi @jefmeyer please see my accepted solution where you can try using a compose action 🙂
