I am creating a flow that uses Form to add a list item to SharePoint, on creation get the profile/manager and start approval and wait for that manager. It works up to the approver selecting their option and fails during the apply to each control. These were added automatically by flow. But assuming this worked on outcome being approved it would send notification that it was approved by manager, then start another approve and wait for a finance contact, on approval it would move to a Site or Business unit contact that is defined using the switch mechanic based on a choice for the form. Currently as I was having issues with the full flow I created and needed to debug in smaller chunks it looks like this. However the goal is something like this
- End user Submits a form
- creates the sharepoint list item columns mapped to answers
- approval and wait hits manager on approved - Finance approval and wait on approved - switch to Business Unit approval and wait on approved - hit security and compliance approval and wait
- Ideally each of these approval responses would write to the sharepoint list
- if it is denied at any approval step ideally it would notify the requester or responder of the form that its been denied via email with output/comments from the approver that rejected it.
- If it is approved by all contacts email your application has been approved to the requester/responder of the form.
This is the most aggressive thing I have attempted to automate using Flow to date and most of my experience is related to using existing templates and making modifications to fit my need so any comments or assistance would be appreciated!
Should I be using Branches instead of condition sets for the approval outcomes being approved or denied?

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge! This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks. The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities. Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”) - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024 Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods. You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately. How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities. Users must provide a solution which can be an “Accepted Solution” in the Forums in all of the communities and there are no limits to the number of “Accepted Solutions” that a member can provide for entries in this challenge, but each entry must be substantially unique and different.
