Link to Item is being replaced by characters ']}

Hi!

I have a flow that creates an Azure work item from a SharePoint List item. The flow was built using the new designer.

Whilst creating the work item, I insert various values from the list item into the Description of the work item. 

For some reason, the 'Link to Item' dynamic value is no longer working for this flow - I can select the value but after saving, the value is replaced by the characters ']}

The 'Link to Item' worked fine yesterday - but at some point whilst tweaking other things in the following steps (I had to try flipping between the old and new designer), this particular value stopped working.

I read another post that mentioned forcing a hard refresh to clear the cache - I've done that but the issue still exists.

I should add that I have a similar flow that was built using the old designer and that one is still working perfectly, picking up the 'Link to Item'.

So, has anyone seen this before?

Hi @AngelaB4 

This is a bug in new designer. Pls switch to classic designer by toggling off "New designer" on the top right corner:

Post switching to classic designer, readd the link from the dynamic content & retest the flow.

Thanks Manish - this worked 😀. I thought I had tried this already but perhaps I did not run the flow via the classic designer!

This just started yesterday, didn't even think to try the classic designer. The refresh did not work for me either.

FYI, existing flows show the ']} characters but the 'link to item' still works (linked URL appears in emails) as long as you don't modify it in the new designer view!

Ah...I was getting frustrated yesterday when this started happening, so along with other flow tweaks I was making at the time, I am sure that I modified 'Link to Item' in the new designer view too...and hence broke it completely 😆.

I have followed your instructions, using the classic view but I am still getting these characters ']}

Is there any other work-arounds? or do you know if Microsoft are working on fixing the Bug?

Post switching to classic view, pls readd the dynamic values for link. Save the flow & retest in classic designer.

Another workaround is switch back to new designer. Add compose action before "Send an email" action & store the item link as its value:

Next, pass the output of compose action in the email body as shown below:
