MS Forms to Planner - Formatting Date issue

Hi,

I have a flow that takes an MS Form input and drops in into Planner as a new task and sends an email to someone. The MS Form has both a 'Leave' and 'Return' date field (date picker), both of which appear in the new task and email. Im converting them as expressions, as below:

formatDateTime(outputs('Collates_all_the_Return_Form_details')?['body/r32b3f83f2db64a07a1d1b3cae0f4fccf'],'dd-MMM-yy')

(Note: Im adding these by typing in the expression box: formatDateTime() then clicking between the braces, selecting the 'Leave' field and then adding 'dd-MMM-yy' on the end.

It was working fine, then it broke. Sometimes when I fix it, it works, then it breaks again. When I delete the expression it's fine so im sure this is the error. Any ideas what might be going on?

"Unable to process template language expressions in action 'Emails_Leavers_Details_out_to_relevant_Staff' inputs at line '0' and column '0': 'In function 'formatDateTime', the value provided for date time string '' was not valid. The datetime string must match ISO 8601 format.'."

Hi @Barking_Mad1,

Could you please provide some more information on which action the error occurs, and you say you fixed it and it breaks again. On which action does this error appear?

From the error message it looks like you are trying to send this formula within the email body, is that correct?

Thanks Marvin, thanks for the reply. Here's part of the flow. I have a parallel branch that uses the same expression to change the date format in the 'notes' section of Planner and that works without an issues (at the moment!). And yes, the expression to change the format of the leave date is just in the body of the email below where Ive snipped the below image.

ISO8601 date time format is ‘yyyy-MM-dd’. 

Presumably the action that is failing requires a specific format.
