Microsoft To-Do wrong time zone

My flow is simple - whenever i get an email, after some steps, create a new To-Do task with a reminder at 20:00 (or 8PM) with a specific title.

Whatever i do, no matter how often i convert my timezone, To-Do always creates it 1 hour off my timezone (which is UTC+1) at 21:00. The flow shows the right output, but when i click on "raw output" it shows me that the reminder is set in UTC. When i convert from utc to my timezone, it even adds 1 hour MORE -> so it is 22:00?!

Does somebody have an idea how to fix this? I want to get the To-Do into my own timezone and not in UTC.

I have managed to find a solution.

At first i initialize a variable where i set this value:

div(sub( ticks(utcNow()), ticks( convertTimeZone(utcNow(),'Utc','W. Europe Standard Time'))),36000000000)

1. I need to convert the utcNow() to my specific time zone.

2. With the ticks function i get the nanoseconds from a specific timestamp.

3. I substract the ticks of utcNow() from the ticks of my local time stamp

4. i divide the result by 36000000000 (this is the 1 hour in nanoseconds) to get the value in hours.

5. i use the addHours function to substract the right amount, depending if its winter or summertime from the recievedEmail timestamp.

This way i always get the right To-Do Reminder.

hi @pize  if you are using convert time zone expression please don't add Z at the end of your expression. That means UTC.

if you are using an action please follow this example

Use the coordinated Universal Time as the source time

Hello @ChristianAbata ,

thank you for your fast reply.

Actually, to figure out my problem, i deleted all convert time zone expressions and tried to simply use the "Recieved Time" value from the new Email trigger on the top. Now the recieved time is "09:04" today and it added a To-Do with Reminder Time "10:04"... so if i add an convert to "UTC+1" now.. it will add a To-Do with "11:04". Both time values are wrong. No matter if i convert it, it always says "UTC" in the raw output of the "To-Do" step.

Hi @pize

As you can see in the screenshot, the item in ToDo is always one hour later than the time the email was actually received.
I suggest that you directly use the addHours function to subtract one hour from the time the email was received.

vliweimsft_0-1679280413331.png

addHours(triggerOutputs()?['body/receivedDateTime'],-1)

Best Regards,

Levi

Hello @ChristianAbata

i double checked my office 365 timezone - it is correct.

@v-liwei-msft

that was what i wanted to do first, but when our country switches to summertime, it would be UTC+2 so de To-Do would be wrong 1 hours off again ☹️.

Could it be, that there is a bug in the To-Do Step?
