I'm integrating PowerApps with PPM Express. When a project is created in PowerApps, it triggers a cloud flow to copy its fields to PPM Express. Everything's working except for multi-select choices. Here are my current flow steps. How can I configure it to copy multi-select choices to PPM Express? The PPM Express multi-select field name is Impacted_Business_Committees.
Hi @teach20 ,
Could you please show me a screenshot of your complete flow configuration parameters?
Best Regards,
Sunshine Gu
Thanks for the response! Here's my flow from beginning to end. I've integrated the PPM premium connector and set up the token.
And here is my multi-select choices in Dataverse.
And here's the expected output in PPM Express once the idea is created in the challenge ID.
I've initiated testing on the first case but haven't extended it to others yet. The challenge ID is extracted from the PPM Connector table, where I can establish attributes like Name, Description, and Student Experience Impact. These labels correspond to keys in the PPM Express table. The adjacent values are retrieved from columns in my Dataverse table.
Hi @teach20 ,
Unfortunately, the values in Dataverse are all numbers.
So I suggest you create a multi-choice column data source in the SharePoint list, and then create steps like this in flow.
My SharePoint List:
My Flow:
split(,',')
Then insert the 'Multiple' array into the 'Create an Idea' control.
Remember to change other dynamic content from Dataverse to dynamic content from SharePoint.
Best Regards,
Sunshine Gu
Thanks for considering the suggestion! Is there a way we can construct it using Dataverse? I've successfully parsed JSON from the body of my row and extracted some values. So, I've rebuilt my condition at the top. I'm just curious if I can do the same for the impacted business committees as well.
Hi @teach20 ,
Please show me a screenshot of your 'Parse Json' output in the run history.
I'd like to see what the structure of extracting values looks like in your 'Parse Json'.
Best Regards,
Sunshine Gu
Here is the screenshot below and I've also attached the files for the content, schema and outputs of the Parse JSON.
I've made changes to the Parse JSON to handle the Project Proposal Status, Portfolio Manager Approval, and CIO Approval, which were previously based on integer and Boolean values.
Then, in my switch case, I've also updated it using Parse JSON.
So instead of inserting integer values in the case fields, I've used the string values from the Parse JSON.
Hi @teach20 ,
Please try this method:
I use the split function to separate the 'impactedbusinesscommittes' Value with the ';' into an array containing several values, then loop this array, add the corresponding values to the 'Multiple' array, and then insert this array into Create an Idea control.
split(body('Parse_JSON')?['cr388_impactedbusinesscommittes@OData.Community.Display.V1.FormattedValue'],';')
Best Regards,
Sunshine Gu
Where did you get the Outputs in Parse JSON? Do I need to compose?
Hi @teach20 ,
Of course you don't need compose, my compose only fills in the code of the Parse Json content you gave, you just need to keep the existing Parse Json structure.
Best Regards,
Sunshine Gu
I got this error. Is there something I am missing?
Yes. I used this
split(body('Parse_JSON')?['cr388_impactedbusinesscommittes@OData.Community.Display.V1.FormattedValue'],';')
Hi @teach20 ,
Please find the dynamic content of 'impactedbusinesscommittes@OData.Community.Display.V1.FormattedValue' and reference it in the expression:
I'm guessing it's the cr388 prefix that's different.
Best Regards,
Sunshine Gu
