Hi,
I have an existing flow that runs a query against a PBi dataset and then sends the output of the query in a message to a Slack channel. The flow works however the output of the message needs refining. As per screenshot, I would like to remove unnecesssary characters i.e. [], {}, " "
Appreciate any help please @Expiscornovus @fchopo
Link to PBi file (dataset) for reference if you need

@Anonymous
Thanks for the clearer picture.
Sorry, I capitalized the U, it looks like it should be lowercase u.
@takolota good point, I was kinda thinking the same. Will try format in pbi dax and hopefully that should solve my issue. Thanks again for your help and patience, appreciate it.
Hi @Anonymous,
Instead of the compose you could try a Select action. Use an expression to only retrieve the value of the [=] column.
Below is an example of that approach.
Switch the Map field to text mode and add the following expression:
item()?['[=]']
@Expiscornovus so I replaced it with 'Select' but what do I enter in *Message Text field as I couldn't find any dynamic content to enter?
Hi @Anonymous,
You can use an expression instead.
Try the following expression:
first(body('Select'))
Hi @Expiscornovus thanks but unfortunately the Slack action you suggested came up with an error i.e.
Hi @Anonymous,
The error suggests that it might not be able to find your specific slack Channel? I also notice an X next to the pa-flow-test2.
Can you reselect your channel from the dropdown menu?
@Expiscornovus I don't believe it's the channel as I've executed this flow successfully in the past as per screenshot.
I entered the channel name as a 'custom value' as it didn't show up in the drop down menu but nonetheless, the flow has executed successfully in the past.
Hi @Anonymous,
Thanks for checking. Can you a test text instead of the expression, for example 'Hello World from Power Automate' and test run it right now? Does it allow you to post that random text in the pa-flow-test2 channel?
Just to rule out that the issue is related to a Slack Channel or connection error.
@Expiscornovus do you have an update on this issue since my last message? Appreciate any help please.
@takolota - you able to assist please?
@takolota thank you for your prompt response. Attached output as requested. Let me know if you need more info.

@Anonymous
I see that lists a “no text” error.
Please share a picture of the Select action outputs in the run.
I suspect there may be an issue with the inputs to that action. Like if the From array data input isn’t formatted correctly as JSON, then the item() expression isn’t going to return anything.
Yes, it’s null. And it looks like the input on the Select is a single string, so it makes sense it isn’t pulling anything.
It’s not letting me load the picture to full screen though, please share the Select inputs the same way you shared the Slack action details in the code view.
@takolota here you go

"[update]": "the onsite revenue for June22-Wk4 is $ and comparative is $8872729.77686175 and variance is -1%"
}

Is…
the onsite revenue for June22-Wk4 is $ and comparative is $8872729.77686175 and variance is -1%
Something you want to send to the Slack action?
In that case the expression in the Select needs to be
item()?['[Update]']
Otherwise, you need to figure out why that PBI dynamic content doesn’t have the data you want.
@takolota correct that is what I want to send to the Slack action. However, after making the change you suggested there is still an error on the Slack action

@takolota that worked perfectly. Thank you, much appreciated.
On a side note, is it possible to include a visual (e.g. chart/table) that represents the text output in the Slack action? Here's an example sample screenshot of another Slack channel but the person who posted it does it manually on a regular basis. Let me know if not possible or this question requires a new post in the forum.
