Hi John

Thank you for your reply.

Yes, the machine I am intending to connect to has an active open session that corresponds to the username/password in my production environment connection. I used the same username/password for Power Automate Cloud, Power Automate Desktop, and the target machine I signed in. As for the connection, I used the On-Premises Gateway. With UnAttended mode, Power Automate Desktop runs with both signed in and signed out to/from the target machine without any errors which signed in should fail according to the mode I selected.

I switched the connection from the On-Premises Gateway to  “Directly to machine” and both Unattended and Attended modes work as expected without any error message. It seems like using the directly to machine connection is much stable and reliable for my project which switching development and production environments often.

Hi, I am having this issue exclusively with Remote Desktop since I am running the PAD on the File Server.

I believe the issue lies in that when you log in through Remote Desktop, the local account gets locked in the local computer, hence you will have to press ctrl alt delete and log back in therefore it is no longer an attended session.

I think one fix would be to change the settings in windows to not lock the account when someone else logs in which I have not tested.

For people not using Remote Desktop to log in, I believe their best bet would be to change the power / sleep settings to not go into hibernation or sleep mode so the user profile is always open.

For the people using Remote Desktop, I found that pressing:

IsaacR_0-1647019764746.png+ R

then typing

tscon.exe 2 /dest:console

will log you out of the Remote Desktop session and log the local user back in to the session.

I tried it for a few days now and it is working perfectly.

Hello John,

I am also getting the same error when I am trying to run any desktop flow in attended or unattended through Cloud flow in my VM. If I run through my local machine attended mode runs fine but not on VM. I have checked all the setting and credential that was mentioned in this thread already. Could anyone suggest what I am missing here.

Can you confirm that the suggestions in this article you have already done? (under the section NoUnlockedActiveSessionForAttended)

Yes John I have checked all the settings of that section. All the credentials are correct that I am using. I could run attended desktop flow through the cloud on my local machine but not on my VM.

This is the error that I am getting. Any suggestion on how I can rectify this? Unattended mode never works for me but attended mode has always work on my local machine but it is not working in the Citrix VM that I have.

Hi John,

Could you help to check error " Connection not found"  when connecting desktop flow in attended mode ?

Machine is on and is connected to environment, Power automate service is running  and the service account in power automate machine run time is NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM.

We are using desktop flow version in 2.37.123.23280

Many thanks!

Hey, i have THE EXACT same problem. Did you manage to resolve the issue?? Please contact me if you did, idn what else to do.

Hi, not sure if it will help you but I was having a lot of trouble on this same topic (I could run in attended mode but when trying unattended, since the RDP disconnects but doesn't sign out, it was giving me the error of no unlocked session available).

I went into power automate page, located the machine and checked the 'reuse sessions for unattended runs' and it started working. I guess it was considering my user was still up and running.
