ODATA filter for dates in SP Get Items

I'm trying to create an ODATA filter to only "get items" with a SubmitDate (my column) of today, yesterday, and the day before that (i.e. return items submitted over the last 3 days...)  

... Having an awful time with the proper expression. Any help much appreciated. 

Also, I'm trying to figure out whether I could/should do a trigger condition for the same thing? ... but getting very confused on the different syntaxes (not teh same for ODATA v trigger conditions, correct?)

Hello @abracken ,

since you want the items from today, yesterday and the day before, you're looking for items where the date is today-2 days.

SubmitDate gt 'addDays(utcNow(),-2,'yyyy-MM-dd')'

Note: the addDays(...) part is an exprssion. Formatting it as 'yyyy-MM-dd' will set the time to 00:00:00 (beginning of the day) in case it's a Date & Time column

If the goal is to get the items, then you can't use a trigger condition. Trigger conditions can use only the data that's available in the trigger, e.g. when an item is modified, you can check the item values. But you can't lookup other items in trigger condition.

thanks @tom_riha --I tried it and got an error message: The expression "SubmitDate gt 'addDays(utcNow(),-2,'yyyy-MM-dd')'" is not valid. Creating query failed.

Like I said in the note, the addDays(...) part must be entered as an expression.
