Only get emails in planner if my name is assigned to the card

I enjoy using the Planner app but can't stand how many emails I receive. When my name is assigned to a card then yes send me emails if any changes are made. But once my name is removed from the card I do not want to receive any emails. Is this possible as there seems to be very limited Email Preferences options?

hi @Stephen_micro  this is a planner default functionallity so you can't pause that or change that.

You can disable receive mails from planner but all mails including when someone add you in a task.

Hi @Stephen_micro ,

It is a Planner Task-related questions, please consider posting this question in Planner community to get a proper suggestion:

https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/planner/ct-p/Planner

If you want to achieve this requirement by using Power Automate, please try to create a flow as follows:

And you need to disable the notification as @ChristianAbata suggested.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply but I wanted to get notified when my name gets assigned to any card on the Board.

I hate how many emails I receive. The reason we use Planner is that it's all online so why the need for an email to everyone whenever anything happens on the card? Seems like Planner or Power Automate can't help.

How do I turn off emails?

How do I reply to someone and it automatically includes their tag? Typical Microsoft 🤐

Hi @Stephen_micro ,

When a task is assigned to me will monitor all Planner you are a member of.

You can disable notification here:

If you want to reply to the specified person in the current thread, you can add @ first, then you can specify the user to reply.

Thanks Barry but turning those notifications off does it for the whole team. I just want to turn off my email notifications, how do I do that?

@v-bacao-msft I know how to tag a person during a post but my point was when I click on Reply to a post/comment it should automatically tag that person so everyone knows who you are replying to and you should not have to click the @ first before tagging them.

PS I did try posting in the Planner forum but no one replied 😑

@Stephen_micro  sorry friend as I told you what you need can't be made.

@ChristianAbata oh wow that blows my mind. I don't understand how a company as big as Microsoft can design something like this without any individual notifications settings. Defeats the purpose of having a Planner app if you keep getting emails on every single comment, even your own comments 😵
