Populate Word Template: "file doesn't contain template elements"

Is it impossible to use Microsoft Word for Mac to create plain text fields that can be used in a Flow Template?

I tried to use the "Populate a Microsoft Word Template" flow, but get the error message "The selected file doesn't contain template elements."

My selected file is stored on OneDrive. It is saved as a .docx

To create it I used 

- Microsoft Word for Mac

- Developer Tools

- Selected "Text Box"

- Set Default Text to: NameField

- Set Field Settings Bookmark to: NameField

I have tried saving the document

- in its Protected, and Non-Protected form

- In filling in, and leaving out, all combinations of the: Default Text, and Bookmarket field.

- trying it hosted on Sharepoint and in OneDrive 

- tried using MailMerge fields..just to try.

None of above work.

My conclusion is that Word Mac does not save these text form fields as "plain text" and instead is saving them as "rich text". (Which is incompatible with Power Automate to my understanding).

Does this mean it is impossible to create plain-text-field Word documents on a Mac that can be used in Power Automate?

Hi @learningpowerAp ,

The content controls that can be added are limited, such as Plain Text Content control.

From the documentation point of view, Template creation in Word for Mac is not supported. But the document also mentions "We can build Microsoft Word templates on either Windows or your Mac by enabling the Developer tab." I am also very confused now.

Sorry, I don't have a Mac to do similar tests, but it is certain that Rich Text Content Control is not supported.

It has been 2 years and Template creation in Word for Mac is STILL not supported.
