Populate a Microsoft Word template, Date and Decimal Place Issue Using Dynamic Content

Good afternoon all,

I am having some issues when using the populate a word document and hope you may be able to help!

I have a flow that runs on an item being created and then populates a word document, the problem is:

Top left date is a date column and is populating backwards, Due date is a calculated date column and is in wrong format I want 22/04/2024 and no time. Finally the cost at the bottom has load of 0's in decimal places, this is a calculated currency column with the decimal places limit set to 2.

I have tried multiple expressions but as yet nothing is working, please help out with any parts that you can!

Everything else on the form populates as it should.

Hi @Edd-Keogh !

Could you try the following expression and let me know if that works ?

formatDateTime(triggerBody()?['Due Date'],'dd/MM/yyyy')

Regarding the currency, you can format it like that :

formatNumber(varCurrencyValue, '#,##0.00 €', 'fr-fr')

One question while I am waiting to get back in for the expression on the currency, how will I link it the dynamic content for the subtotal?

No worries @Edd-Keogh ,

Regarding the currency expression, before the "populate a word template", I would create a variable "varSubtotal" and initialise it with your "Subtotal" value, then use the following expression :

formatNumber(varSubtotal, '#,##0.00 €', 'fr-fr')

Thank you very much Tristan the date format works perfectly. I am still struggling with the currency, I want it in £ so I'm guessing that doesn't hurt to just swap that but I'm not sure how it should all look in the flow? I have about 5 columns to also change with this, like line total, total, VAT do I need create individual ones for each?

If you want to format it in Sterling, you can use the "Format Number" action :

And the result : 

I think if you integrate this action before "filling" your document for each value, it will work  😉
