Project Tasks to Planner Tasks

Good day!

I'm pretty new to Flow/JSON and all this.

But I was able to create a flow that brings all newly created Tasks in our Projects (MS Project Online) directly in our Team Planner.

Flow 1.JPG

But I do now have the problem, that I have to assign and date all task manually, as these things are not being considered when the tasks are created in Planner.

When I try to choose the Start and Due Date from Project, I do receive an error message:

I also tried to play with custom connectors. But being pretty new to all that, I always get errors with my connectors:

with according error message:

Has anyone solved this? And was able to get those information out of Project into Planner?

Any help is appreciated!

Thank you!

Hi @SchwerzmannC,

Please refer to screenshot below to created the flow:

The expression in the Start Date Time field as below:

formatDateTime(triggerBody()?['TaskStartDate'],'yyyy-MM-ddTHH:mm:ssZ')

The expression in the Due Date Time field as below:

formatDateTime(triggerBody()?['TaskFinishDate'],'yyyy-MM-ddTHH:mm:ssZ')

Best regards,

Alice

Hi @v-yuazh-msft

Thank you very much! It finally takes over the right time stamps.

But I am still struggling with the Assigned User Id in Planner Task.

I've tried it with several functions (like parameters(), replace(), etc.).

The string for the email in Project is 'Email', in Planner the assigned user id is 'assignments'.

And it says it's the id or email address of the user. So I thought, if I get the email address from the task to that field, it should work?

But I always get error messages, at it seems not to work?

Also if I try to build it up with "Get User Profiles", it simply puts me the last User in all tasks that are created in Planner:

Any ideas here?

Thank guys for the information

I need your help in designing a workflow that would automatically generate a Plan in Microsoft teams, After publishing a Project the flow should create a Plan in MS Planner in Microsoft teams. To do, buckets and assigning team members should be able to be updated on MS projects or Bi-directional

I assume you don’t have people editing it directly in MS Project because of licensing.

If your use-case isn’t reliant on more specialized MS Project tools, then you could use this Project Management template instead. Free to use for anyone with an appropriate Office365 license:

https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Power-Automate-Cookbook/Project-Tracker-SharePoint-and-Teams/td-...

So not exactly what you are looking for but i was able to automatically place assigned tasks into a random test plan using a template someone made up to automatically send emails.
