Remove time from Dates - Planner Due Date and Current Time

Hi All
I am a first timer at power automate.  I am trying to run a flow that will send an email to the assignee of a task in Planner, 7 days before the due date in the task.  I created my flow by subtracting 7 days from the due date in the Planner task and then comparing that date with 'current time'.  My flow keeps running successfully but is not sending the email as expected - even though there is a macth in the dates.  The Condition I have is returning as 'false' - because the date values match but the time values don't match.  Is there a way to remove the time altogether so that my Condition can simply compare the 2 dates only?

Hi @NicoleSue 

Please make use of expression to format datetime values. Below is the expression which subtracts 7 days from current date & return the value in yyyy-MM-dd format:

Expression needs to be entered in the expression window as highlighted in the screenshot:

addDays(utcNow(),-7,'yyyy-MM-dd')

 You could use the output of compose to compare with due date of task(s).

Do this for both of them in the condition. Now you have to be careful to make sure there is even a date but its there now, without the time.

formateDateTime(timevalue, "yyyy-mm-dd")

I have added the expression in a compose action and it does not work as expected. 
Expression entered:  formatDateTime(body('Due_Date_-_Subtract_from_time'),'yyyy-mm-dd')

  Result: 2023-00-20

I would have expected the output to be 2023-10-20.  Why has the '10' (october) returned as '00' (have no idea what 00 is).

Thank you for your response.  Unfortunately I don't think that would work in my situation (but I am new to this so I am probably wrong). 
I don't want to minus 7 days from utcNow, I want to minus 7 days from the due date of the task in planner and remove the time from the output.

Please try changing the lowercase 'mm' to the uppercase 'MM'.

formatDateTime(body('Due_Date_-_Subtract_from_time'),'yyyy-MM-dd')

I don't understand why changing 'mm' to 'MM' makes a difference but it does!  Thank you - my flow is now working 🙂
