Hello community,
I am completely new to building PA flows.
I need to create a flow where, whenever the task-creator or item-creator presses 'save' after creating the task/item, but does not fill out the start and/or due dates (unlike three other fields, these are not mandatory fields), he/she will receive a feed notification with a messages such as "Following XX task in YY list has no start date. Please fill the field".
I also need to notify the person when today's date goes past the due date with something like "XX task YY list late by ZZ days. Please look into it."
How do I go about it?
Of course, I could make those fields mandatory as well, but I want to practice.
Thank you!

Hi @Seil ,
The action is 'get item' not 'get items', and I select it in dynamic content.
Hope this helps you!

Hi,
Is this a Canvas App, or Form?
I am just wondering if it would be better in the UI to enforce the required fields, before they can Save.
Cheers

I should have clarified in the post.
These are SharePoint lists items. The company creates these items on Teams.
Also, let's say I enforce the start and due dates while they are creating the tasks/items. That takes care of the 1st part of my query (I'd still love to know a flow for that, for practice).
For the 2nd part of the query, how would the flow look if I have to send a notification when the current date goes past the due date?
Hi @Seil ,
Please try this:
1)You can create a flow to determine if the start time in the new record is empty, and if it is empty, send an email to alert the creator, the specific test steps are as follows:
The expression about empty:
empty(outputs('Get_item')?['body/Start'])
2)As for sending notifications about over time records, you need to implement it using 'Apply to each', here are my test steps:
Hope this helps you!

Hi Rimon,
Thank you for the replies!
I'll test them and keep updating here.

It worked!! The above steps are working.
The final email step works when the recipient is either 'Created By Email' or 'Modified By Email', but not both.
Why does that happen when I combine both?
The error is:
The 'inputs.parameters' of workflow operation 'Send_an_email_(V2)' of type 'OpenApiConnection' is not valid. Error details: Input parameter 'emailMessage/To' is required to be of type 'String/email'. The runtime value '"xx.xx@abc.co.yy xx.xx@abc.co.yy"' to be converted doesn't have the expected format 'string/email'.
Hi Rimmon,
Found my error. I had used 'Created By' instead of 'Created By Email'.
I got the idea from your suggestion where you pointed out 'Get Item' instead of 'Get Items' above.
Thank you for your help.
Onto the 2nd part of the query😀
When I replaced Outlook with a Teams notification in the final step, it is showing the following error:
No user details with email or UPN 'xx.xx@abc.co.yy xx.xx@abc.co.yy' were found in Graph.
Do you know why?
I think I found the solution in the community itself.
https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Building-Flows/Microsoft-Flow-bot-send-message-more-than-1-user/...
It is mentioned that "It seems that only one user is allowed in the Recipient field. I am afraid that it is a default behavior."
However, that solution is from 2019, so I don't know if it has been rectified.
So far I can post in a Teams channel something like "Hi, please enter the start date for task xx-123."
Is there a way to @mention the creator/modifier after 'Hi' in the flow and then post the above message in the respective channel?
