SharePoint Create New Folder: BadGateWay

Hello all,

I'm experiencing seemingly random failures in a create Sharepoint folder flow.

I have a simple setup of:

- When a new item is created in a Sharepoint list

- Create new folder

The folder path is determined by fields entered in the Sharepoint item.

The Create new folder sometimes fails with 'BadGateWay'. The body of the error is as follows:

I figured it could be because of special characters in the folder path, but that doesn't seem to be it.

Examples of Folder Path:

Succeeded: "FY21/Q2/IIYAMA/Iiyama general 5-2020"

Failed: "FY21/Q2/IIYAMA/Iiyama LFD 5-2020"

Any ideas?

Could you please share a screenshot of the configuration of your flow?

It is strange that the provided two example don't have any difference however the second one would run failed.

Could you please take a try to run the flow again to see if the issue still exists.

When the error code 500 or 502 appears, the failure is temporary, you could click Resubmit to try the flow again.

Thanks for your reply. I think the flow will always retry itself, since it says '2 retries occured', but it will still fail after 10 minutes or so. It may be temporary, but it's happened for a couple of users now and it makes the flow unreliable.

Are you sure it is a new path and the path is not existed in the library before the flow runs?

And could you please choose the library from the drop down list?

Hi @v-alzhan-msft,

Another flow run failed this morning with the same error. I double-checked and the folder didn't exist before.

I have changed the Library to use the drop-down, let's see if that helps.

What I find interesting is that when it failed this morning, another run just seconds before by the same user did succeed. Is it possible the server doesn't accept two runs in quick succession?

Does the two run would created the same folder path?

Anyway, it may a reason that cause the flow to run fail.

I finally figured it out, it was so simple... Some of the users entered a blank space at the end of the field that was to become the location string. I added a trim to the string and that solved it.

I have the same problem, exactly how did you input TrimEnds in to the Flow?

It would have been nice of Microsoft to return a more specific error to help us. Thank you very much to you anonymous user
