SharePoint document library: get file metadata - update file metadata

Hi all,

I'm having some trouble with setting up a correct flow to the needs of the client I work for.

Situation: my flow will copy a file (Word doc) from SharePoint (with its associated custom metadata I created) and paste it into OneDrive. Then my flow will convert this Word document to PDF and copy it back over to my Sharepoint document library. 

However, when I copy it over to SP again, all of the custom created metadata has to be filled in again manually. Is there a flow where you can do "get file metadata" followed by "update file metadata"? I noticed that there is a "get file metadata", but the "update" possibility is missing.

My suggestion is to try with 'update file properties' and 'get file properties' action block

Hi! Thanks for your response.

I've been trying the "update file properties" as well indeed. 

However, when I use this, I only see the option to set the "Title" property of the file in SharePoint.

How can I get to set all the other columns (metadata) I created for this document library?

Hi!
Update File Properties shall offer you the chance to update any column you added to your library... i use it in my flows very often.
Please note you need first create columns in your SP library, then add 'Update file properties' to your flow

Ahh, you're right!

My current setup in SP is:

Document library: "Technical" (with all columns defined as metadata)

Then there's a folder "Public" in this document library. And that is the place where I want to update the metadata. 

And that folder is where he won't recognize my metadata columns for the "update file properties". However, when I select the "Technical" document library, it does recognize the metadata.

Is this as designed or just a bug?
