Sharepoint Get files (properties only) connector will not return any files; it only returns folders.

Hello all,

Forgive me if this is a duplicate inquiry. I have searched this website and Google numerous times trying all sorts of keywords to hopefully find something and unfortunately I can't find anything that even talks about my issue.

I am creating a Flow and every step of the flow I have works as expected, except for the Get files (properties only) step. This is where I am having trouble. Looking at the data output for this step, I see that it does successfully read all of my folders. But none of my files are being returned at all. This is especially confusing as the description for this connector states: "Gets the properties saved in the columns in the library for all folders and files stored in the library. You can also filter down to the items that match a condition. An "Apply to each" section is usually used to work with the output from this action. When using this with the On-Premises Data Gateway, the name of the library to connect to may need to be entered manually."

Given the description, this connector SHOULD be returning all folders AND files, correct? Any idea why I am not getting files back? Here is a screenshot of that connector block.

Any help with this is much appreciated!

Hi @MattNwachukwu ,

Have you tried with a different library? Could you get all the files and folders from a different library?

Are you able to select a specific file from the library when using action Get file content?

Do you have any special settings on the library?

On the return body of the action Get files (properties only), could you see the files in your library?

I have made a test using the action Get files (properties only), all the files and folder are returned. The issue you mentioned could not be reproduced by me.

Update:

I tried to create a new folder to test some other flow and thought I'd come back to this one to see if it would pick up on the new folder. It doesn't, so it leads me to believe that this is not an issue with not being able to read files vs. folders. Rather, it has something to do with each file/folder. However, I cannot figure out what makes the folders it picks up different from the folder and files it will not.

Does anyone have a clue as to why this is happening?

Mabel,

I tried a combination of all of these things and I was able to figure that something is going on with my account and its permissions.

I asked another team member to run the flow and it worked for him. We supposidly have the same access level to this document manager, but my account doesn't pull the data down like his account does.

I tried to make a test Sharepoint site to use myself and my flow worked on it 100%.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the connector, as you've stated. It seems like a settings issue.

I will accept your response as the answer. There's no other explaination for this weirdness except for misconfiguration on my account or the document store.

Thank you for offering your assistance with this!

Just for the record: I had the exact same problem. In my case, it was just a session/cache problem. I just had to logout and login and this problem didn't happen anymore.

@MattNwachukwu

I have run into this exact same issue, where you ever able to determine what setting/permission was causing this?
