Subtotaling values from forms response

I have a 'choice' question on a form that allows a user to select multiple items that list the item name and cost. In my flow I'm gathering the response information and sending it in an email.

Right now the results of the 'choice' question come back like this.

["[\"Item1 - $225.00\"","\"Item2 - $250.00\"","\"Item4 - $50.00\"]"]

Ideally if possible I'd like to end up with something like this:

Item 1 - $225.00

Item 2 - $250.00

Item 4 - $50.00

Total - $525.00

I've found some good resources on summing an array( Summing Array ) but first need to figure out splitting the string above into an array containing just the numbers.

Can anyone point me to any resources on how I can accomplish this, or a different idea as to how best to collect this data?

Hi @BlitzenWaters 

You could use a combination of replace(), split() expressions to achieve this.

First replace the "", [, ], $ characters

Once you clean up the text you could do a split using - (hiphen)

Iterate the array to get second part of the split using last() expression.

Finally use a trim() expression to get each value.
