Sum list items for each category into a new list

Hi there. Working with Power Automate a lot for my daily routines. I'm stuck with a new flow. Hopefully someone can help out:

What I want to achieve is to create a new list with all unique employees where their budgets from an existing list is added up. I've checked on many Youtube tuts and checked out multiple topics on this forum, but can't seem to find the right answer. The only thing I can do is to have for each employee create a manual flow based on this tutorial: https://www.tachytelic.net/2021/06/power-automate-instant-sum-array/.

How I think this could work:

1. Get items from List A

2. Make a unique list of employees in a variable

3. Apply a for each on every single employee name

4. Do a Get items with a Filter Query on EmployeeName eq 'John'

5. Use the flow mentionned in the link above.

6. Create a list-item in a new list (List B) with Employee Name + Budget.

Hi @GrgPowerMS - you are on the right lines (I wrote that blog post). But you need to do a little more to make it dynamic and without having a loop. I will probably have to do a video to demonstrate how it can be done. But it is possible quite easily.

I'm testing for about a week how I can make it dynamic but can't get my finger around. A demonstration video could definately help out 😄.

Just out of interest, how big is the list? The reason I am asking is because there is a solution which is very fast (but somewhat complex) or an easy solution which works fine, but the performance isn't great. But if you only have a small number of items then it won't matter.

• The amount of employees is about 10 people now.
• The amount of lines per employee can be more than 10 each. The amount of lines is basically the budget I assign per activity per employee. And they do about 30 activities on a yearly base.
