Teams - Post message as the Flow Bot not working

I want to post message on Teams when a new Task is created in Planner.

I am able to do that using a Flow, but the problem is, it posts as my own user.

For Teams action, I have two options:

  1. Post a message
  2. Post a message as the Flow bot to a channel

The second option keeps throwing 404 error.

{
  "error": {
    "code": "BotRequestFailed",
    "message": "Request to the Bot framework failed with error: '{\"error\":{\"code\":\"BadArgument\",\"message\":\"Unknown cloud 'in-client-ss.msg'\"}}'."
  }
}

Hi, I have created a very simple flow. The flow should trigger if a file is created in a particular folder on OneDrive for Business. The desired action is for it to send a message to a channel on Teams. I have tried multiple things but could not make it work.

Hi, I am having the same issue. let´s say I have a Flow called "TestFlow" where do I find the respecive app in Teams to allow/unblock it.
Would be great to get help on this!

There's nothing to unblock.
When you choose Post a message in a chat or channel, you will have three options:

  • If you choose Chat with Flow Bot, you are asked for a name or email. The user needs to exist and as you type the name/email, a dropdown will appear, and you select the user.  If there isn't already a chat with Flow-bot for that user, it will be created. Note: Do not delete this chat - once it's created, that status is stored somewhere and it won't try to create it again, and it will not be able to post to that user from that Flow. You can make a copy of the Flow and the copy will create a new chat.
  • If you choose Channel, you will be prompted for the Team and the Channel. These are both dropdowns.
  • If you choose Group Chat it will prompt for a Conversation ID with a dropdown of all your group chats. Because it needs that ID, the group chat must exist.

I hope this helps.

I tested it on my side, and if I allow all custom apps in Teams, the action works proberly. If I disable custom apps again, the action stops working... but I do not want to allow all custom apps.

I create a schedule flow and ran it and it failed, Please could tell me how to fix this?

Request to the Bot framework failed with error: '{"error":{"code":"BotNotInConversationRoster","message":"The bot is not part of the conversation roster."}}'.

Hello, I am having this issue as well: Request to the Bot framework failed with error: '{"error":{"code":"BotDisabledByAdmin","message":"The tenant admin disabled this bot"}}'.

Could you please help by checking my flow? https://make.powerautomate.com/environments/Default-b3f4f7c2-72ce-4192-aba4-d6c7719b5766/flows/56b2a...

Unfortunately you're seeing that error because your IT admin has disabled the Power Automate App in the Teams admin settings. The app Power Autoamate, Power Automate actions, and Workflows need to be enabled in order to get the full functionality of Power Automate in Teams. You can learn more about app policies here Overview of app policies to manage apps in Teams - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn

In the interim. You can use post as a user if that would suffice for your scenario. But posting as a bot would require the app to be allowed.

Hi,

I'm using "Post a choice of options as the Flow bot to a user". If user selects the first option, work item is created and Flow bot successfully posts a message in Teams channel. But if second case is selected, posting to channel fails. I get:

Request to the Bot framework failed with error: '{"error":{"code":"ServiceError","message":"Unknown"}}'.

Could you please help to resolve this?

please ignore... Just realized that used wrong message ID. That's why was getting this error.

I am getting this error when trying to post to channel, from bot. It works when I send to Teams group chat.

Any help?

{ "error": { "code": "BotRequestFailed", "message": "Request to the Bot framework failed with error: '{\"error\":{\"code\":\"ConversationBlockedByUser\",\"message\":\"User blocked the conversation with the bot.\"}}'." } }

@SamRT this is because the user you are trying to reach has chosen to block messages from the Power Automate/Workflows bot. This is an optional thing that a user can choose to do to mute messages from Workflows. The only way to reach such a user would be through a common channel, groupchat or using the Post as user option where the message would end up coming from the owner of the flow instead of the bot.

Thanks, sorry for the late reply. I've spoken directly to the user who the below error is in relation to, and they're adamant that they have never blocked anything.

"Request to the Bot framework failed with error: '{"error":{"code":"ConversationBlockedByUser","message":"User blocked the conversation with the bot."}}'."

Where would a user go to check if they've muted workflow notifications, and to unmute them?

Answered my own question after some Googling. I had to get the user to search for the "Workflows" app in teams, and right click it's icon. He then had "Unblock Bot Conversation" in that right click menu.  All sorted now.
