This won't work because it would move cells in a table on your worksheet.

Just trying to add a row to a table, but It is throwing the error listed in the subject.

Hello @EmployeeA

Would really appreciate a screenshot of the action where you try to insert a row in the table. The more information you provide, the better we may be able to assist you 🙂

Kind regards, John

To save you having to wade through 2 other pages for the actual answer like I did after clicking on the 'solution' (go somewhere else, then go somewhere else again), try this:

*** I was able to fix by going into Design > Resize Table and selecting the proper range of data. ***

Thanks @RyanPD

This works.
When you resize, delete any data to the right of the table boundary.
By resizing the table the headings out of the new table size will remain,
for example "column 1", "column 2".. etc, will remain.
Select and delete anything and then you can proceed to insert a new column in the table

I guess this error can have multiple causes.

What fixed it for me was going into Data and clearing the filters

you got to create a new sheet in excel, type the header, formulae (if you have) manually and copy paste the existing data from the old one to the new sheet of excel. Try the flow again and it will work.

Please delete the bottom most rows in the excel which are unused. The issue occured as the excel sheet consumsed the max rows available.

This was pretty annoying, I had the table set up all the way to the bottom of the Worksheet so there was no space AFTER the table to add another row.

But as LindaKDev points out. The table size was wrong.
To resolve this; resize the table to just the headers and then when you go to "add a row" to the table it will appear just below the Table range.

This feels counterintuitive by Microsoft.

Actually from my own experience, I realized that selected more cells than I should have precisely my last cell in a row and it was hard  to notice to notice because the data contained in the last flowed over to next cell and was perfected fitted in it.  I was working in two different worksheets and what ended doing was to recount manually my source selection and targeted selection only then I realized I did selected one cell too much.  After adjusting the selection in the source, I was good to go.

My point is simply the share my own experience and the steps I took to solved my own.

My solution was much simpler. I had 3 tables in a worksheet, with plenty of space between them to allow for expansion. But kept getting this message when trying to refresh just one of them.

Checking the properties, I realised the issue straight away.

Go to Design\Properties, and choose the option 'Insert entire rows for new data, clear unused cells'

Now it refreshes without any issues.

When I ran into this issue, it was because my table was filtered. When I unfiltered, then, the flow was able to delete a row.
