Trying to create task on Planner and assigned to different buckets based on answer in Forms; getting "Schema validation has failed. Validation error.

I'm trying to create a Flow that creates a Task in Planner and dumps it into a planner Bucket based on the following question in Forms (each name has a bucket titled the same way in Planner):

Here is my Flow where I'm getting the following error--> "Schema validation has failed. Validation for field 'BucketId', on entity 'Task' has failed: The specified identifier is invalid."

I think You need the ID of the bucket instead (I assume you input the name).

The Bucket ID can be retrieved by list bucket action. Then filter the bucket ID against the name and add it to the task creation action.

@spinxt The Bucket Id requires the ID of your bucket, not the name of your bucket. In order to get your Bucket ID you'll need to add a List Buckets + Filter Array action to your flow.

Manual Trigger

First, I would recommend using a manual trigger while you build and create your flow. This way you don't need to leave Power Automate to trigger your flow. Once your flow is ready to go—create a copy of your flow and replace the Manual Trigger with an Automated Trigger. I always keep a manually triggered copy of my flows to help with troubleshooting at a later date or to test out any modifications I'd like to make to my flow. 

Response IDs are assigned sequentially. Depending on how many times you've filled out your form, you can enter any number in the Response Id field.

List Buckets

The List Buckets action will return an array of buckets from your selected Plan Id.

Run a test. Review the outputs. You need to filter out the bucket by the name (which is what the user will select in your MS Form) and return the Bucket ID for the Create Task action. 

Filter Array

Add a Filter Array action. In the From field, insert the value dynamic content from the List Buckets action.

In the first value field, insert the value Name dynamic content from the List Buckets action. Leave the operator as is equal to. Note: This operator will look for an exact match.

In the second value field insert the dynamic content from Get response details action that will output the bucket name. In my case it's the output from the Single Choice Option question.

Return Item Count

Whenever I use a Filter Array action, I always like to return the count of items returned in a Compose action. This is helpful when building a flow and can also be used to troubleshoot your flow. Insert a Compose action. Add an Expression. Use the length() function.

Select the Dynamic content tab and insert the body dynamic content from the Filter Array action into the length() function. Press ok and run a test.

Review the outputs of the Compose action. The Compose action should output a 1. If it has output a zero, this means that you need to troubleshoot your Filter Array action. As mentioned earlier, the is equals to is looking for an exact match. If there is an extra space or differences in cases, it will not filter your bucket as there isn't a match.

Did you know that the Condition action has a limit of 10 conditions? Although it might look like the Filter Array action can only accept one condition—this is not true. By using the advanced mode you can enter multiple conditions into a Filter Array action with an expression.

Return Bucket ID

The Filter Array action will return an array of items even if it's only returned a single item. If you try to insert the Id dynamic content from the Filter Array action, the Create a Task action will automatically nest itself inside an Apply to Each action.

To avoid the Apply to Each action, you need to use an expression. You'll need the dynamic content key of the dynamic content you'd like to return. In this case, the bucket id. Take a look at the output from the Filter Array action. The dynamic content key is the red text between double quotes. In this case it's id in lower case. 

Insert a Compose action. The Compose action is optional. However, whenever I'm using expressions, I prefer to use Compose actions to ensure the output is what I expect. Tip: Rename your actions to keep your flow organized.

 The first item in an array is [0], second is [1], third is [2] and so on. Insert an expression. Add a question mark and a zero between square brackets (to return the first item). Insert square brackets and single quotes. Insert the dynamic content key between the single quotes—in this case it's id.

?[0]['id']

Press the up arrow key to go to the start of the expression and click on the dynamic content tab and insert the Body dynamic content from the Filter Array action. 

Run a test. Review the output. The Compose action should output the Bucket Id.

Now you can use the output of this Compose action in your Create a Task action.

Filter

From : output of List buckets body/value

Left side of the filter: BucketName

Condition: equal to

Right side of the filter: the name of your form respons

Place this after the form action before you create the task. Make sure you use a first expression on the filter output to only get the first table row.
