Hi @ENkay1

Flow step Update file properties you need to map the Id. From your screenshot I can see you are mapping the current item of the loop. So from the loop it should expose the properties of the row where you must have the Id for each row which can be used for update file properties.

Hi @ENkay1

Thank you for your kind comments. Below is the flow we discussed.

k1.png

k2.png

k3.png

The above expression is as follows:

length(split(variables('metadatavalues'),';'))

k4.png

The above expression is as follows:

split(variables('metadatavalues'),';')[variables('index')]

k5.png

The last step initalise metadata array null is incorrect.  Declare another empty array at the begining of the flow. Set the empty array here to metadatarray. This way we can initialise the array.

Hi @ENkay1

Got your message. Not sure why you can't reply to this thread.

Under the Dynamics Content start typing the properties. Sometimes not all properties are displayed by default.

Hi @ENkay1

Thanks for the screenshare. So we have resolved the first issue which was the list update. Next issue is the meta data update. Have a look at this blog https://flow.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/managed-metadata-tago/

Let me know how it goes.

Hi @ENkay1 ,

It seems that the type of the ID in the Excel table does not match the type of the ID field in the Update file properties, so there is no ID displayed in the Dynamic content option.

Please try to use Compose to store the ID field in the Excel table and then configure the output of Compose in the ID field of the Update file properties action.

Please take a try.

I rate @abm as the leading authority on designing very extensive and complex flows. In addition hes taken so much time out and gone to lengths to mentor me are share his knowledge.

For clarity the above flow only scratches the surface of what my requirement was.  @abm took time out of his own schedules to support me every step of the way. I am so grateful to you !!!  and indebted Thank you so much.

My flow was to add managed metadata to a column on a document library from a excel table.

this involved

Setting numerous variables, index, array and strings with split fucntions to count tags and building nested loops to suport mutiple items and tags.

BIG BIG THANKS

I am will be sure to hang around here and learn more.  - what didnt help was i couldnt post or reply to thread on this forum to begin with.
