Update a row with Error 404

Hello,

I am create a flow with Microsoft Form: Once the form is submitted, its response is recorded on an excel; if submitted past a certain time, it will have to go through an approval, and i'd like to have the approval info being recorded as well so i used "Update a row".

I read a few post about the "Key value" under "Update a row" works best if dynamic. For me, the key value is the outcome of the approval so the flow has been returning 404 error. Please help.

Hi @Anonymous

When you are updating the row

seems like you are providing the Id value as "Approve"

Id would be the unqiue value identifying your row

Hi @Anonymous

Could you please map the outcome in a string variable before the update row. Then map the string vairable in your update row step.

If that doesn't work then check the run history variable value. Make sure this key value is unique in your excel sheet.

Let me know the outcome.

Thanks

Hi @abm

What do you mean by "move the outcome into a variable" before the step? Can you elaborate how?

Hi @abm

Do you mean the condition below shouldn't be a value, it should be variables?

Hi @Anonymous

Like this. Here map the outcome and use the variable name mapping in your update step.

Hi @abm

I only have the basic preview version of the flow, so the variable functions are not available..

Is there any way i can do it with the basion version?

Hi

Click New step. Under the choose action type variables. Check whether you can see initialise flow step available or not?

Thanks

Hi @Anonymous,

However, I have tested on my side with the above Flow you created, it works well. I'm not sure if it's an Excel file issue, but could you please try creating a new Excel file and test it?Annotation 2019-09-17 160205.png
