Updating Excel file on sharepoint from attachment - causing corrupt file

Hi,

I have an excel file on sharepoint which is used as the data source for powerBI report. I get a system email with a new version of the excel file each day. I have set up a flow to update the file when the new email hits my inbox each day. However, when I use the flow below, the first time it runs, the excel file then becomes corrupt and cannot open as per the error message also contained below. Anyone have any insight into what I am doing wrong?

Hi @marty1984 

You may put a check on file extension to make sure that flow will update the file only if attachment is excel file. Since an email may arrives with multiple attachments so it might update the existing excel file with some other file format (image, word, pdf etc.) so I would suggest you pls put the below condition in your flow:

If you are sure that the email always comes with one attachment (excel file only) then I think it wouldn't fix the issue but for safer side, you may set this condition.

I have almost the same issue the difference is that flow seems to go well but I see that there is some missing data from the attachment as it has been taken in account.

Do you have any idea of what can cause that behavior?

That's the pb there is no error message. It's like the flow went well.

Hi,

Use "Get attachment" to get the content of an email attachment and use "Create file" to copy the same in SharePoint site. In "Create file" action pass the content from the output of get attachment action.
