Value Greater than & Less than

Hi All,

I am hoping you can help.

I am trying to create a flow from a Dataverse table with an approval process.

What I am currently doing in a condition

If the "Procurement Type" is equal to Job Costed

and

If the "Business Unit" is equal to Field Services & Shutdowns

If yes, then a "Start & wait for an approval" begins

What the company wants me to do is put in another condition where if the total purchase value is over or equal to $501 it will start the approval process BUT if it is less than or equal to $500 it does not need approval.

Hopefully, this makes sense

Sure - that's just a third condition of "And is equal to or greater than 501". Otherwise nothing happens.

Or, am I missing something?

It doesn't seem to work, even if I have the first one as greater than 501 it doesn't seem to recognise it and just goes straight to not requiring approval even when it does need approval.

I tested 2 different amounts yesterday, $1000, and $490 and the flow for $1000 didn't go through for approval.

Ah, I see. You may need to use an int() expression on both to ensure they're reading as the same format. Both on the value you're inputting, and the one you compare it to.

No worries! I am not quite familiar with expressions, could you give me a hint on how I would write it? 🙂

Okay, actually, I went in and tested and I have no issue with the values when just entered this way (mind you, my DollarValue is an actual currency column in SharePoint.)

So it has to be something else.

Can you show how your condition is configured?

What format is your Amount column coming in as? Do you know?

Ah yes, my value formate in Dataverse is a text not a number column

Beauty, all right, back to int() we go 🙂

Click in the field, and the "Dynamic Content / Expressions" doohickey will pop up. Click the Expressions tab. Type in "int()" (without the "s). Click in between the brackets, and then click into the Dynamic Content tab. Find your Amount, click it. Then, click OK.

You'll know you've done it right because it will appear purple in the field, like so:

I am getting the error below... the number I am trying to flow is 1114.8. is it the .8 that could be causing the issue?

I am using this expression:

int(outputs('Get_a_row_by_ID')?['body/cr67d_totalprvalue'])

Unable to process template language expressions for action 'Condition' at line '0' and column '0': 'The template language function 'int' was invoked with a parameter that is not valid. The value cannot be converted to the target type.'.

Would it be easier if I changed the Dataverse table column to a number value instead of test?

I ended up changing the column to a number format, it was the easiest way in the end 🙂 thank you very much for your help though!

No problem, @CAJ1 !
