adding Due dates 3 days from item creation date

Hi,

what i am trying to achieve is to create a outlook task after an email is sent upon creating an item and set the task days to 3 days from the created date.

Currently i can only see option to add dynamic contents fields.This way i can add a created date but not  created date +3.

my workflow sends notification and assign outlook task and may be reminders. 

I am not sure if it is the right way to do it. please advise if there are any alternative/correct way to do this.

i did saw that function in the expression but not sure how to add field "created" in that.

If you add the expression So you will have adddays() in the expression editor. Then put your cursor between the brackets and clikc on the Dynamic Contents tab. Then find the created from your trigger and add that Dynamic content.

I'm brand new to Power Automate, and I'm trying to do the exact same thing as the OP. However, I can't understand the solutions provided by other people. 😞 Sorry to be thick.

I understand where to find the addDays expression, but I don't understand how to format it properly. It's not clear to me from the tool tip what to do. 

Perhaps if someone wrote out exactly how it would appear in a working example, using real numbers?

below is the format as you know. 

addDays(timestamp: string, days: integer, format?: string)

click on Dynamic content > click the timestamp or field you want to add the days to > this will return you the string. add this string using the example below to the adddays expression. 

example below will add 10 days from the time the form is submitted or in my case the employee's leave date for the task to be completed. the 

addDays (outputs('Get_response_details')?['body/r2630bc5770f149f6bc17c1b620874fa7'],10)

Easiest way to do this:

In the Expression editor use the addDays function and the UTC now function. 

First find the addDays, and select it. This will be in the fx box: 

addDays()

Next, when the cursor is between the parentheses, find and click on the utcNow fx. Your fx will now look like this:

addDays(utcNow())

Finally, add a comma after the set of parentheses for the utcNow function, and insert the # of days as an integer; in your case, 3.

So the final function will look like this:

addDays(utcNow(),3)

Easy peasy breezy beautiful.
