building a flow problems

Hi, i'm new to this community and having problems to build a flow.

What i'm trying to reach is this.

I created an list on a SharePoint site to create a teams site. when the teams site is created i asked powerautomate to give me back the SP URL. and this URL i want that joining a hubsite.

Only the last step is for me not working.

Hi @jvanveelen,

That the list has multiple fields does not really matter, you are still retrieving only one list item. All fields of that single list item should be available directly after the get item (no need for adding an apply to each).

When you are retrieving multiple list items at once (via a Get items action) you would need an apply to each action.

Btw, I did not notice this in your earlier reply. But there is a small typo in your Requesting site address field of the Join hub site action.

You have not included the /sites/ part in the path. Please make sure it is formatted like below

https://m365x4729054.sharepoint.com/sites/Alias

That might be causing your error.

Happy to help out! 🙂

Hi @jvanveelen,

Are you getting a specific error? If so, can you share what that error is or a screenshot of the error? Also a screenshot of your cloud flow setup would be useful for troubleshooting.

Below is an example how you could join a hub site using the Joinhubsite method:

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/dev/features/hub-site/rest-joinhubsite-method#http-requ...

_api/site/JoinHubSite('@{variables('HubSiteId')}')

I also got an example blog about this:

this is the flow (in a demo tenant) the error that i received is this

The execution of template action 'Apply_to_each' failed: the result of the evaluation of 'foreach' expression '@outputs('Get_item')?['body/Alias']' is of type 'String'. The result must be a valid array.

Hi @jvanveelen,

It looks like you used text as input for the Apply to each. That action normally expects an array to loop through.

If the Alias field is retrieved from the Get item (a single item) you would not need that apply to each action. In that case you can directly retrieve the Alias field without an apply to each.

Can you place the Join hub site directly after the Get item action and remove the apply to each action?

Happy to help out! 🙂

thank you very much! its working!

HI still 1 question,

it was working untill i used 2 or more words in my name.

How can i solve that problem. because when creating the sharepoint site it is without any spaces, only my alias gives the link + name back with the spaces and then de joining hubsite is failing.

Hi @jvanveelen,

In that case you could use an expression to remove the spaces. You can use the replace function for this.

Try something like below:

replace(outputs('Get_item')?['body/Alias'], ' ', '')
