hi i made a flow that if a list item is modified to have the next steps value be 'archive' it will move the list item to another list and delete the original item. it worked a few times, but now the condition expression keeps changing the trigger on its own.
i have it like this. i click off the condition. i click back on the condition, its changed to 'Discuss'
theres no discuss column. the flow worked fine a few times, but isnt anymore. its like it hit a particular list item and now it doesn't work. it now removes the 'archive' choice selected in the column to blank.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi @JesseTaylor ,
Please remove unnecessary string functions and single quotes.
Fill in only the Archive, paying attention to the case of the words.
Best Regards,
Sunshine Gu
@JesseTaylor Have you tried using the Classic Designer? The New Designer is still buggy. I would recommend switching to the Classic Designer. If this still causes you issues you may need to recreate your flow—switch to the Classic Designer first before you make any edits.

that solved the auto changing, but the trigger is still failing, as in its still saying false.
awesome, but sorry how do i add the apply each part?
i did this. it failed. thank you for help so far. still not working though 😞
Hi @JesseTaylor ,
You don't need to apply to each, I'm just giving you an example, just select the value of the field.

Sunshine Gu
i think i have that checked, as in, instead of 'next steps' it has 'next steps value' to differentiate between a cell that has text in it on the sharepoint list, and a column that has the choice function in it.
i tried remaking the flow, didnt work the way it supposed to: its changing the item choice in the original list from 'Archive' to whatever it was before, or just deleting the choice entirely then the flow says condition:false.
Hi @JesseTaylor ,

okay its working now on one front:
i did a test.
When i make a new line item and mark it as archive, the flow works, when i change an exisiting item to Archive and refresh the page, it has changed the choice from archive to whatever it was before.
so its working for create new item, not modify existing item
Hi @JesseTaylor ,
No, when you use a trigger that is triggered when an item is created or modified, it means that whether you create a new item or modify an existing item, the flow will be triggered, as for why when you select Archive on an existing item, and then refresh the page, the item will restore the previous value, is because the SharePoint list has a delay, you can refresh it a few more times, wait for a while, it will show the value you have modified.
Best Regards,
Sunshine Gu
Hi @JesseTaylor ,
As a reminder, you can also select Archive directly in the item at the beginning of the item creation, rather than selecting the Archive after the item is created.
Best Regards,
Sunshine Gu
