flow that runs when file is uploaded to a floder

Hello,

I have a document library in SP site. I have a another flow that runs every time a manager creates an item in list and that flow create a folder in that document library. now what I want is once a manager uploads a document to that folder it should send out an email to that particular user. by the way when the first flow runs it takes that user's name from the list item and uses to name the folders in the doc library. Please Help !

Do you want to add some action to the current flow so that when a document is created it triggers an action to send an email? That the email is addressed to a user already gotten in the flow?

If I've missed something, I'd appreciate more information from you.

Get user email address by username and send an email:

The 'Created By DisplayName' in 'Search for users' is just an example which shows how to get email address with username, you can replace it with username in your flow.

@v-mengmli-msft thank you for getting back to me so basically I have one flow that runs as soon as a manager creates an item in SharePoint list it, the flow runs and creates a folder in another document library capturing that users name as a folder name. Once the folder is created a supervisor will now be going to add documents to this folders and when that happens flow should kick in and send an email to that user informing them that your document is ready for you to review it.

@v-mengmli-msft also I tried what you have mention I need to send email to user who's folder is created not the one who creates it. My first flow runs when a manager creates an item in SP list, in that list I have a People Picker column where they selects user's name so when my flow runs it grabs user s name and creates an folder to a document library. now what I want is when manager uploads a document to any of this folders it should send out an email to that particular user informing about it.

Hi @jasminepatel90 ,

I noticed that the folder name contains user name, assuming that the user's folders are all in the same parent folder, we can set up a trigger about the parent folder to get the name of sub folder when one of the folders in the parent folder has been modified and use this value to look up the user's email address.

I'm assuming you name the folder after the user's name, please try the method:

test1 is parent folder.

The expression in compose action:

split(triggerOutputs()?['body/{Path}'],'/')[sub(length(split(triggerOutputs()?['body/{Path}'],'/')),2)]

so I dont have any parent folder I have a document library and in which my first flow creates a folder using that users name
