http action for powerbi rest api

I tried to get token for powerbi rest api using http in power automation: In the “URI” field, I enter the following: https://login.microsoftonline.com/yourtenantid/oauth2/token In the “Headers” section, add the following key-value pair: Content-Type : application/x-www-form-urlencoded

Body:

grant_type=client_credentials&username=xxx&password=xxx &scope=https://graph.microsoft.com/.default

Have error: 'client_assertion', 'client_secret' or 'request' is required for the 'client_credentials' grant type.

I need to enter that without client_id and client_secret. What is request in this case? What is body looks like without client_id and client_secret?

Use the action HTTP With Microsoft Entra ID (preauthorized). It's not that well documented and can be a bit of a fiddle to get it going but that's what you need to run calls against the Graph API as the current user.

For Power BI use the Base resource URL as https://api.powerbi.com and the Resource URI is https://analysis.windows.net/powerbi/api

Now in the action you can test it works by setting the Method to GET and the URI to https://api.powerbi.com/v1.0/myorg/reports

This should return all the reports you have access to. No need for any client IDs or secrets. Now you can read the API documentation and figure out what to put in the URI to do whatever it is you need to do.

Unfortunately, after first flow i got error

it works after I just sign in. Did not ask for client_id and secret. Just sign in. What do they use?

You didn't use the connector with (preauthorized) in the name. The are two. The one in my screen shot is the one to use.

Correct, this is a premium action - as indeed is the HTTP action you were originally trying to use get an access token. There is a non-premium Power BI connector that allows you to execute a subset of the API endpoints, but if what you want to do isn't supported by that connector you have two options: 1) Buy a Power Automate premium license (or at least sign up for a trial to get it going) or 2) Use Azure Logic Apps, which can be a lot cheaper than a Power Automate license depending on your consumption patterns.
