power automate flows creation

need one power autonamte that takes one parameter and return in to 2 parameters that were calculated - say takes a string brakes in to 2.

for example need to create a flow using the power automate ( ex 23272101003)

if the value is greater than 5 or equal substr varibe ,0,5=> julian -> transform this in to date -> get a date varible ( output shows as sep 29 2023)

greater equal to 7-> substr varibe,5,2=> type code ( output as code or type ( 1) )

greater equal to 11-> substr varibe,7,4 => sequence number ( out put as 1003)

If you look at the formula I provided ("yyyy" in lower case) and look at the formula you posted ("YYYY" in upper case), you have the answer. And I'm sure you will find the solution for changing the month. Since your first post specific asked for "sep" and not "september" it is really hard to provide correct solutions. The next time you create a ticket, try to think about what you really need first.

Hello @gopichandana1

I think you posted the same questions some days ago. I didn't understand it the first time and also I don't understand the requirement now. Maybe other users have the same problem understanding the problem.

You can try to rephrase it. Maybe or give a little samples of input and desired output. That would help to understand what you are trying to do.

Your example is a large number and after that you are talking about substr. This is a string function. What do you mean by greater equal. Do you mean the length of the string? Ether way. All Strings or Numbers that are greater or equal 11 are also greater or equal to 7 or 5 so that doesn't make sense.

Please provide some samples.

i can explain i have a document number (for example :21232101004) may be we can call as a dcn document.

Here the first 5 letters belonging to the date and it is in the format of julian but i need it need to convert in to calender date ( for example 21232 (2021-8-20). after that number lets go for 6 and 7 it shows as a document type or location . last 4 digits shows as a series. I want to create a flow for this process. can you help me in this .

So it is not 2 but 3 return values you want to get.

I don't know what the second part is but if you provide a link or a description of how to convert 10 into 1 I can finish. Until now this is what the flow could look like:

Matthy79_0-1691762623033.png

HERE IS THE DOCUMENT

I didn’t read the whole document, this should be at least your part but as far as I saw there are different types of numbers with different information in it.

I think the screenshot provided already has all the information for you to complete the flow.

If you have a specific questions about how to complete the flow, go on and ask. But if the question is „Here is the functional description document. BUILD THE FLOW!” I am the wrong person to do it, especially since I already provided the solution.

Thank you. Can you help me in creating the flow how to create the flow this and how to write this three fuction.

I already did. Have you read my post? Scroll up and you will find the flow. I don’t know what you need more. Screenshot and formula is included. What exactly do you need?

the next time you post, provide a screenshot and an error message of your current flow.

gopichandana1_0-1692026685045.png

Hello Matthy looks like the flow is showing errors may be i have done some wrong can you solve this please and also may i know the function that you entered in the substring i mean document type and document series

What is the string you are testing with?

In your first post you used "23272101003". This string has 11 characters. Since for your scenario it is important that you have a string that is always the same, it would be interesting what string you provided in your sample flow run 😉

The one which you provided in the screen shot.i added this  string functions in the substring ( 2 FUNCTION IN A IMAGE )

Please answer the question. What was the “DocumentId” you tested the flow with? You can check that in your flow run history. You could also use slice instead of substring. The flow won’t fail but it will return a wrong value if you provide a wrong value.

23212101003

I HAVE ALSO HAVE A LOT OF ID LIKE THAT 23212101002

23212101003

Ok, would you now please send the 2 substring expressions that you use to return the value 2 and 3.

THE ONE UNDER THE DAYS

WHAT I HAVE TO KEEP THE STRING FORMATFUNCTION  IN THE 2 AND 3 . Can you send a function to me

The second and third expression would be:

substring(triggerBody()['text'], 5,1)
substring(triggerBody()['text'], 6,5)

all good but it is not generating year

{
  "documentdate""Jul 31 YYYY",
  "documenttype""1",
  "documentseries""01003"
}

it has to be july 31 2023
