"Extract Information from Documents" - Cannot select AI Model through Custom Value

After learning more about the AI Builder, I decided to put together a flow that reads invoice data and outputs it to an Excel sheet, which can later be cross-referenced with some of our other databases. While I was able to set this up for one of our vendor's invoices, I started to have issues once I tried to reconfigure the Flow to read invoices from multiple vendors. 

The plan was to have the Flow trigger manually, and have the user select a vendor from a dropdown menu. The AI Model that parses the invoices would then be chosen based on the selected vendor. However, I get the following error when I try to set the AI Model as a variable:

Flow save failed with code 'OpenApiOperationParameterValidationFailed' and message 'Input parameter 'item' validation failed in workflow operation 'Extract_information_from_documents': The API operation 'PredictV2' is missing required property 'item'.'.

This error message is generated whenever I try to use a variable for the Model, and I even tried initializing the variable with the AI Model code. However, it seems that custom values are unsupported in this action, even though I have the option to input them. 

Since we have few vendors with completely different invoice formatting, we unfortunately cannot use one AI Model for all vendors.

 

Would anyone know how to create a Flow that extracts information via dynamically selected AI Models? Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated.

Seems like we can't use variables in AI model parameter.

As a workaround, we can add a switch action.

Thank you for the reply. It's unfortunate that we cannot use variables to select an AI Model, but I hope that Microsoft will allow this in a future update.

While the switch would be an appropriate solution for a flow that uses five or less vendors, I plan to use it to manage invoices from about 15 vendors. In the past, I made a flow with a Switch for each of these vendors, and it made the flow so large that it was difficult to edit and took almost five minutes to save.

So in the meantime, I'll just change the AI Model reference in the Flow itself. It'll slow down the Flow's usage by a bit, but it shouldn't make too much of a difference, since it would only be used once every couple days.

Have there been any further updates to allow the setting of a custom model id yet?
Really need to be able to do this 😵
